  • and I love 'We are are human beings not human doings'.

Do you not enjoy "doing" other humans? :)
  • Just to add...

Much like everyone else, I, too, sometimes fear change. It's very easy for me to think, " I can't change this." But, such thoughts are futile, for nothing ever stays the same.

If there's one thing that is true, it's this: the universe is always changing, whether we like it or not. It is constant, continual evolution. The same holds true for the minutes, hours, and days of our lives. We are continually changing and shifting. Each emotion, attitude, and experience-each piece of scenery-leads into the next. If I put them all together, what do I have? A grand journey-an exciting trip called Life.

I wish you all a wonderful evening :)

Er, don't give up the day job.

Unless the day job involves learning better gags.
  • Before I start getting ready for the day ahead, I though I will share a little epiphany I've had last night.

So, as I was sitting there, looking through my outgoings ( again) I've realised that, it's not how much money I have, but how I spend it that counts!

It used to be that, the more I had, the more I wanted. I would think, " I can get this, because I have extra money this month." It didn't even occur to me to save :( Evidently, making more money is not the way out of debts. Spending less is!

Whilst my own realisation of wasting money didn't make me feel great, at least I am changing my ways now! Better late than never :)

As it's pay day tomorrow, I am really looking forward to paying off a large chunk of my overdraft. I am ( again) intending to live as frugally as possible, and will NOT buy any non-essential things. I really hope, my new habits will eventually become my normal way of life; the less I spend, the happier I feel!

I wish you all a wonderful day :)

  • Today is my pay day. As planned, I've paid £800 towards my overdraft! It feels absolutely fantastic to see the balance reduced! 'Only' £700 to go...

Before I decided to tackle my debts, I would get very excited by my pay day, but not this month. Apart from the joy of being able to throw extra money at my overdraft, today feels like any other day. I don't feel particularly excited by getting paid. I feel very calm and in control. I no longer get blown about by how much money I have, or don't have. My main focus is on paying off my overdraft next month.

With that in mind, in order to achieve my goal, I need to continue as I have been; low spending and no non-essential purchases. I've managed the first thing already, and done the 'main' shopping this morning ( it came to £64.)

Since I've spent very little last month, I felt overwhelmed by the sight of full trolley! ( all of it essentials) At times, I felt tempted by 'special offers' but I remained strong and did not succumb to any unnecessary temptations :)

Creating a shopping list and sticking to it really helps!

In preparation for the time when I'm debt free, I've been researching various ways of saving, and hopefully increasing my money. I've looked at ISAs and different saving accounts. Perhaps I'm a little ahead of myself, but by doing this, I am motivating myself to continue with my plan. I WILL BE DEBT FREE!

    Right, I must get on...

Wishing everyone a great afternoon :)

  • Although I've met a lovely man, I live alone with my two children ( have done for over 10 years.)

One of the advantages of living on my own, is the total control I have over my finances. I make decisions how the money is spent. If something isn't working, I can adjust it without having to discuss it first with my partner. Also, I don't have to hide my debts, thus they are out in the open.

Sometimes I think that, having partner's income would help the matters, but I derive a lot of pride from dealing with my debts on my own ( they are mine after all.) Besides, I really don't want to drag my old debts into my new relationship. I want our relationship to evolve organically without the added weight of my past financial ineptitude. Luckily, he fits my new attitude to money and enjoys frugal, debt free life.

Today, after work, I shall treat myself to a box of hair dye. If there's one thing I will not compromise on, it's my roots! Apart from that, I have nothing to get for the rest of the week.

I wish you all a wonderful day! :)

You are doing so well.I've been single for a while and have realised I'm not ready to meet anyone else yet.I have too much to think about without bringing someone else into the equation.Maybe once the debts are paid off I will be ready.Or maybe not.Right now I am focussing on the debt and the house. That's it.
