Payday today so I have made the payments to the credit cards. I now have less tahn £10 to pay to meet my cc1 target so will pay that tomorrow from my wage from 2nd job.

I have put by money for the rent, council tax and half of the loan. I have kept the other half of the loan money so that I can give my sister the money I owe her for my parents present and so I have money to live on for the next 2 weeks as I don't get paid again from 2nd job until the 7th of Jan. Once I get paid then, I will put by the rest of the loan money.

I spent £15 on a present for my brother and SIL and we are currently heading down to spend a few days with my family. Don't know if I'll get much of a chance to post over the next few days so in case I don't, I hope everyone has a lovely christmas :xmassign:

Came home today having had a lovely christmas with family. I'm taking a break from unpacking and trying to find places for all the presents we got - well and truly spoilt :D

We seem to have a lot of food in the flat at the moment so only got a few bits and bobs today which I'm hoping will take us through until after new year. I'm just on the edge of going overbudget for food this month so will try and make what we've got last.

Back to work tomorrow :( but at least I don't start until 4 so I can have a long lie.

  • Hi MissT

Great to hear you had a fantastic Christmas and got lots of pressies.

Booo to going back to work today but its all money so a good thing I suppose.

Hope you get inventive with your food supplies,I am trying to not do a food shop for this week and manage to feed us until hubbys first pay check on the 10th January . I am going to have to be extremely inventive. :o

Are you doing anything for New Years? I am hoping I get my way and we manage to stay in for the night.

Ideally I'd like not to do a food shop until I get paid on the 7th, however, think that might be a bit optimistic. I have a £20 Sa*nburys voucher so might use that to get any bits and bobs we need plus nibbles for Hogmanay. I'm working until 8pm on the 31st so I don't imagine we'll do very much. Nibbles and drinks in the flat while watching Jools Holland and watching the fireworks out the flat window is the way we usually celebrate :) I hope you get your way.

Since it's nearly the end of the year and I don't think there will be any more debt repayments until 2015, I thought I would do a wee summary of my progress this year. Unfortunately I found that somewhere along the way I have slightly miscalculated and am about £100 more in debt than I thought I was :( However it's not much to add on so am not too bothered.

    Loan - £6409.78 Now £5000
    cc1 - £1947.53 Now £346.52
    cc2 - £2098.78 Now £1798.78

Very pleased with my progress, hopefully 2015 will continue in the same way.

Ideally I would like to be debt free in 18 months time. In order to do this I would have to pay off around £4500 next year which possibly is a bit optimistic but I might as well aim high! I've updated my signature with the January targets already :)

I've been having a think about various plans/things to do next year.

    - Meal planning/food budgeting: I need to continue this as it works really well when I actually stick to it.

    - I thought I would try the 52 week savings plan but do 26 weeks up/26 week back down as I don't think I could manage the whole 52 weeks. This would give me £702 to put towards the loan/wedding expenses/christmas 2015.

    - I have two weddings this year, one local and one the other end of Britain so I need to start saving up for these now. I plan to open another savings account which can be for wedding expenses.

    - Me and OH would like to try and go on a couple of cheap weekends away this year so will have to save money for this too.

    - Looking ahead to the birthdays throughout the year/christmas 2015 I need to try and reduce my budget for this as I spend a lot of money on presents. I will sit down and make a list of all the people I buy for and think about homemade gifts I can make them/also try to buy little items as I go along.

    - The 0% balance transfer on cc2 runs out at some point this year so I need to find out exactly when and then look for another deal.

Right I better get off the computer and start thinking about getting organised for work. Hope everyone is having a good Saturday.

Got two pairs of jeans, a jumper and socks in next and some no7 goodies in boots. Have now spent all my christmas vouchers, pleased with what I got :)

I start work at 4 today again so better get organised. Today will be a NSD. Think I might need to get bread/milk tomorrow but will see.
