You've paid off loads already this year Tara, I wouldn't worry too much about not getting to £7000 at the end of the year, especially if the new loan means it's not going to cost you as much (in interest) to pay it off. I'd still focus on CC1 until it's paid, then you'll have MORE money to overpay to the new loan when CC1 is gone. :j
  • I agree. Esp as I think getting rid would give you such a lift and it's well within your sights.

Thanks AleMrsT and INOD for your advice. Thinking about it, you are right - it would be nice to get rid of one debt so new plan of action will be to overpay cc1 until its gone (hopefully end of Feb) and then start on the loan.

Well done with getting control of that interest rate. You are doing so well.

Will be nice to kill off the Credit card first and then snowball that extra cash into killing off the loan asap.

You are in control. Its brilliant :T

Ps. I did think that you shouldn't count your bus fares home from work as a spend as it is a planned unavoidable expense. Might help you acheive even more NSD's :j

Thanks monz. It looks to currently be August 2016 however hoping to bring that down a bit. To think I could be debt free in the next 18 months is amazing :D

Thanks Steph. I think it shows how much my credit rating has improved in the last year as when I went for a bank review at the start of the year they could only offer 0.5% less on the interest rate.

That's a good point about the bus fares. I was actually thinking for next year I might set myself a NSD target so that would definitely help.

I almost finished my christmas shopping yesterday (spent £70.85). I now just need to get a couple more things which I will get today and then I am done :D I ran out of wrapping paper so will need to get some more of that today too.

Had a lovely evening out with my friends yesterday and spent £25.05. I had budgeted £30 so pleased with that.

Payday today so I got £161.69.
    - £11.69 to cc1
    - £5 car club
    - £16.99 gym
    - £18.99 phone bill
    - £30 food
Leaving £79.02. I will get a very small wage from 2nd job on christmas eve (only worked one shift) and then that is it from them until after new year so whatever I have left from buying christmas presents today I will put aside to tide me over until new year. I will get paid my monthly wage on the 23rd but that all needs to be budgeted for bills :( OH is currently signed off work so he is unable to contribute much to the bills at the moment. Hoping he'll be back to work soon though.

I've a busy day ahead of me - I'm visiting various friends and family to deliver presents so on that note I better go and get organised.

Budgeting seems to have gone out the window the last couple of days but oh well I'll get back on track after christmas. I've finished my christmas shopping now which is good so it's just a case of making sure everything is wrapped up before we head off on Tuesday.

Went to see The Hobbit yesterday with OH so £13.15 spent.

Today I met a friend for coffee (£2.10), got a couple of things from sa*nsburys (£4) and bought some toiletries (£10.96). I'm running pretty low on most toiletries but reckon I will probably get some for christmas so will do an inventory after and see if I need anything else.

Heading up for my last shift at work before christmas so beginning to get very excited! All presents are wrapped and am pretty much packed for going away tomorrow. The only thing I have left to do is buy a bottle of something to give to my brother and SIL as a thank you for hosting christmas :)
