Hey hun
Good going on the extra shifts this week - just hope you don't burn yourself out taking too much on!
I bet the odd 9.60 on your balance is killing you.. it would me! Hopefully you can make a payment to that soon
It's a bit rodney that you were charged extra at the dentist for a scale and polish. I thought that was included in the basic bracket so you shouldn't have to pay extra?! I didn't get charge at my dentist last time I had one, was just the standard £20 check up fee or whatever it is (and it was more bloody painful than the 2 fillings I'd had the time before, let me tell you!)
Do you not have fixed broadband, or is the mobile broadband on top of that? Well done for changing the buffer to 0. I hate those extra charges, especially when you've had no notice you've gone over your limit!

Hi Kim, yeah the £9.60 is bugging me but am restraining myself from making another payment until I know everything else is covered. My £5 reward should be in my account tomorrow so will pay that towards it.FinanciallyUnsavvy wrote: »It's a bit rodney that you were charged extra at the dentist for a scale and polish. Because I'm in Scotland, the check up is free and then you just pay for whatever treatment you need. I didn't feel the filling at all and then the scale and polish was really sore. My teeth are still really sensitive - I'm struggling to drink my coffee this morningFinanciallyUnsavvy wrote: »Do you not have fixed broadband, or is the mobile broadband on top of that?
No we don't have a phone line in our flat and didn't see much point in putting one in just to get fixed broadband. I compared the prices when we first got the computer and at the time, it worked out slightly cheaper to get the mobile broadband.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Decided that it was annoying me too much so made a £10.07 payment to cc1 to take me under £9000
This also takes the cc1 balance to £1088.91 leaving me £89.00 to pay to reach my target by the end of May.
Spends for today are £3.95 on toilet roll and milk.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Thanks GibI was saying to OH last night that it feels wrong to get so excited about having just under £9000 worth of debt, however, I am. It is a big achievement for me as for the last few years, every time I cleared a little bit of the credit cards I would spend it again.
I paid the council tax yesterday (£128) and made a £7.98 payment to cc1. I also spent £2.50 on bus fare home from work. Weekly payday was also yesterday and I got £60.98. I will need £10 for the LOVEfilm direct debit. I have budgeted £20 for food and £10 for bus fares leaving £20.
I'm currently waiting for the electricity bill to come through so may put the £20 towards it if needed. If not I'll use it to buy some toiletries - I'm down to the last shower gel and body lotion from Christmas.
My original target when I started this diary was to get to under £8000 by the end of the year, however, I'm pretty sure I shall make this so going to make it a bit harder and aim for under £7000. So my next mini target is to get to under £8500 by the end of June.
I have got the wedding today so better go and start getting organised. I'm really pleased as my whole outfit is made up of items I already owned so didn't need to buy anything.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Hi there
Just ducking by to say well done on your progress. I was so pleased you got your PPI cheque through, and also that you used some of it to think ahead to the wedding expense later in the year. Planning ahead is one of the major differences I've noticed for me lately, it feels like such a relief to know there's a plan in place for the expensive things.
Keep going, you're totally getting there!!If you know you have enough, you're rich.0 -

Thanks ani*fan. Yeah this is a huge difference for me as well. It definitely makes things less stressful which can only be good
Well I'm back from the wedding and it was an amazing day yesterday. What was also amazing is that it was very cheap - yesterday I spent £6 on some tights (snagged the pair I was wearing) and that was it. I didn't spend any money at the wedding at all as I just drank the wine on the table and then switched to water.
Today I went out for lunch with the girls before travelling back so £10 spent. I also gave £10 to my friend for petrol as she gave me a lift there and back and put in £5 to get a wee gift for the girl whose house we were staying at. I then bought a pizza for tea -£5 spent.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Not much to report over the last couple of days.
Yesterday
I spent £3.80 on a bus ticket as I went to see my gran before work. I paid the TV licence (£6) and made a £4.01 payment to cc1.
Today
I spent £16.48 on food and £2.20 on bus fare home from work.
I'm working double shifts tomorrow and Thursdaywill be worth it next Friday when I get paid. And at least with working so much I should hopefully manage at least 1 NSD.
Lately I feel as though I've been slightly slipping back into my old way of popping into the shop regularly on the way home from work and spending more than I should. I need to get a bit more organised with meal planning and going to A*di weekly for everything.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Forgot to add in the last post, the electricity bill came through today and it was £194.78 (estimated) so I have submitted the proper readings and it should now be a bit less.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86
