Nothing to buy!

I just got a WEM to say I'd won a £50 gift voucher to Eyestorm gallery. Fantastic I thought and headed to the website. Cheapest item is £250 and all of those were sold out. What a disappointment a competition win I can't use.

I'm a newbie to comping any suggestions? Should I email the gallery and ask them what they can offer?

Thanks to all those who post - you're doing a great job :)

WOW i had a look and yes everything is pretty pricey...maybe you will have to write this one off. Shame.. but well done on the win all the same.

You could try and ebay it.. maybe someone is looking to buy from there and could offer you something in return for the discount voucher.. something is better than nothing i suppose? Sorry your win turned out to be unsuccessful though.
I smile because I have absolutely no idea what's going on

  • Thanks for the suggestion Livewire. Hadn't thought of ebay. Do you know if that is allowed? I don't want to get my ebay account banned or anything.

Erm, ive never done it myself... but having just had a quick look people are selling gift cards/vouchers on ebay.. or you have the likes of gumtree etc. I guess it may depend on how the voucher comes if its a discount code or physical gift card, and whether it's tied to your name or not. Good luck!

  • I don't believe this. Got in today to an email saying I had won another £50 voucher for the same gallery and then a couple of hours later the code for the gallery. Still can't but anything on their site though and it says the voucher can't be used in conjunction with any other vouchers. This is really taking the mickey now!!! Has anyone else won one of these? If so what have you done? I emailed eyestorm on Friday but no reply yet.
  • Ooh that's snide in a way :( I got given a 'present' of a £50 H Samuel Voucher- had to spend £150 to redeem it. It seems like the same sort of thing here.
  • Is there any way we can complain about these 'prizes' where you have to spend significant amounts of money before you can redeem your 'prize'? In effect these £50 vouchers are like being given a maximum of 20% discount so I would consider this an offer not a competition prize.

I won one the other day, was a "jewelry gift voucher" for £500.. only thing is you have to spend a minimum of £1500 pounds to redeem it :O

no way I can afford that so I had to decline lol

A bit unfair to you OP and to those who have won similar "prizes" because it is in essence a discount but in another form.
