My dad is 84 (!),a miserable sod, tends to freeze as doesn't like paying for gas and chooses to spend Christmas on his own as he doesn't think there's any point celebrating unless he's with my 16yo niece -not going to happen.
I still get him an (unthanked) present from me and ds every year and this year,in an attempt to give him something to do,warm him up and try to make him slightly less of a miserable old sod,I want to give him a hamper of useful and enjoyable stuff!
Already planning on some faux sheepskin lined slippers and some thermals or a wool jumper.
A Jar of old fashioned sweets.
Could do with some ideas of popular classic films/tv series I can get on DVD to take him back to his younger days.
Also some music ideas for back in the old days?
Any homemade old fashioned food ideas?
He doesn't have any hobbies,he just tends to sit and flick through tv channels,so it's a little awkward thinking of something to get him that would give him something to do!

How nice are you? My dad was exactly the same, God bless his soul. A nightmare to buy for. When he passed away we found about 20 years worth of unopened presents we'd all given him.:(
If he likes TV, could you maybe get him a Sky subscription if he doesn't already have it?0 -
My grandpa likes handkerchiefs, ties, chutneys for cheese, small bottles of red or white wines and whiskeys. Maybe some of them he would like?0

DVDs more morecombe and wise, open all hours, only fools and horses, rising damp, the good life, carry on films, porridge
I realise these are all comedies, it's all I can think off! I think they're mostly 70s too, but he may still like them?
Just thought of tv series roots, I think that's a pretty old one.
Does he like a particular genre? Musicals (Casablanca, carousel), westerns (there's a million old western films), deceptive/crime (Columbo, murder she wrote, not old but classics, surely), comedy (can't go wrong ith a carry on) horror (the birds, in fact a lot of the Alfred Hitchcock films are pretty good and eerie down to the filming)
My nan is the same age and she likes anything with Clark gable, Audrey Hepburn, etc etc so look for these kingd of actors in filmsMummy to ds 29/12/06 dd 10/2/08 ds 25/5/11:Amy angel born too soon 18/11/12, always with me Emmie Faith:A15 projects in 2015 10/15completed0 -

Check out Christmas Jumper King, we also do worldwide shipping.
Yeah,I'm sure an 84 year old grumpy sod would just love that...not.
Shame you are spamming. If you weren't I may have used your site for myself but there's something about spamming forums that says your either desperate or are a scam.

Sainsburys's have a "Bah Humbug" jumper, though I do have to wonder why you are going to so much trouble for someone who clearly won't appreciate it. Just saying.£2 Savers Club 2016 #21 £14/£250
