Online 'EXCLUSIVE'

My wife has recently given birth to our 3rd little one and we have been looking for a double buggy, not to expensive due to it not being used everyday. We found one online at Mothercare and which stated online exclusive, so went in store to see if they could get one at the store so we could see if the oldest (2 years old) would fit in it. We were told that it was not possible to get it in store unless we but the item. Which I wasn't to happy about so I emailed customer care about the situation, they emailed back the same infonation stating if we brought it and wasn't suitable we could request a refund,as long as its in its original packaging and not use. How is it possible to see if our little one fit if we can't get it out its packaging and assemble? I think it's bad customer service on their part. I've looked else where for this item but no where else seems to have it. Any help appriciated.
