Totally wrong for the North East (Newcastle) Hardly any wind and only a few drops of rain! Our local weather forecasts on the BBC and ITV last night both said we would get rain and wind throughout the night and this morning! Just goes to show how wrong they be - even with all the latest technology!
:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea

Nothing even remotely like a storm here in the midlands either, just a bit of rain and light wind.

Sunny blustery on the Southcoast today. No damage done that I can see.
  • Wind died down then it lashed it down most of the night. I probably copped it cos I'm high up, there's nothing between me and t'hills. Sun's just come out though :D
Apparently 108mph was recorded on the Isles of Scilly.

Well, I suffered SW Trains or their lack of service today.
Weather conditions were poor and network rail had to remove trees from the line, fine. However their communication throughout the day fluctuated between terrible to non-existant.

Also funny that despite the fact that their parent company "Stagecoach" owns both the train and the bus company covering the route for my commute they were not accepting train tickets on buses. Poor customer service and frankly little imagination and resources putting in resolving the problems and getting people safely around the country. Let's hope next time they do better.

PS - SWT Not travelling or working from home was not an option for me
