On the Southern coast here (Eastbourne) and it was very wet and windy all night here. Just very windy at the moment, the rain is intermittent. Parents went to check out Beachyhead and froth from the sea is blowing all across the top - looks like snow!
Have got the torches all ready, batteries checked, candles at the ready and we have a camping stove and camping kettle to use if power does go out. If power does go out, will probably be whilst I'm at work, so won't be able to comp anyway.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
In the East Midlands, so due to get it early hours, though the wind has been picking up all day and the cloud cover is spreading.
We have LED torches spread around the house- got them after a couple of short power cuts earlier in the year.
Main worry is road conditions and bus services tomorrow morning. If it is too bad then no one will be leaving the house.0 -
I'm in coastal Somerset, the beach is about 100 yards from my home/work. Bit wet here today but nothing more than that. Fortunately the tides aren't big at the moment so we won't get a storm surge coming up the Bristol Channel.Would LOVE to win:
A hamper - any sort! A goody bag - any sort! A UK mini-break. A year's supply of something foodie. Anything Sci-Fi related
2013 wins - Cutting Room book, Rock n Rose necklace, £50 M&S voucher, Greggs coffee, £70 voucher for a Onesie0 -
I am on the South Coast - and need to be at work tomorrow at 7.30am. It's an hour and a half drive - so I need to leave my house at 6am which apparently is the "peak of the storm".
My OH is in mega panic mode and doesn't want me to go, but I don't really have a choice... Life must go on.
Im not a nervous driver and plan to leave extra early so I can go super slowly. But some good vibes sent my way wouldn't go amiss!0 -
Still not seeing much of a storm here in the midlands, it's pretty much normal autumn weather at the minute, i'm quite disappointed considering all the hype of a 'SUPER STORM!!!'. Anyone else experiencing more stormy weather yet?:starmod: Looking for the lucky dust :starmod:
:staradmin Saving for a masters degree 0/15k :staradmin0 -

@Becky_Boo They have cancelled the morning trains here in Portsmouth
TRAINS in and out of Portsmouth will not run on Monday morning in preparation ahead of forecast strong winds and heavy rain.
South West Trains has advised commuters not to travel as weather forecasters warn of hurricane-force winds and heavy rain across the south of the country. No services will run before 8am.
Southern Railways has also announced trains will not run until ‘it has been declared safe to do so’, which is not expected to be before 9am

If at all possible I would avoid travelling if you can.
If not be safe x0 -
I'm right down on the coast in Devon and supposed to hit us in the early hours. I love extreme weather:)August-September 2017: Lots of stuff

@Pompeypaul Oh dear that's not good...
Im just along the coast in Southampton - they are advising the same. But I really can't miss work tomorrow. Slightly worried!0 -
Yeah they've cancelled train services in and out of Brighton already. I expect they'll do the same for Eastbourne too.February wins: Theatre tickets0
