Can you use your Nectar card points to pay for your groceries?
I have read somewhere that you need to have used the card within the 24 hours beforehand to do so. Is that correct and how do you get around that?

Yes, you can. I've got a few pounds worth of points on mine and the staff generally ask me if I want to use them when paying. However, I've never been asked if I've used the card in the last 24 hours - if that is the case then could you not just use it when buying something cheap (like a pint of milk or a pack of gum) just before your main shop?0

They've never said anything to me about using the card in the previous 24 hours. I tend to save my points to pay for Christmas groceries, or at least part-pay."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

Thank you both for replying. I thought it was a bit strange.
I've now found this:Spend your points at Sainsbury's; swipe at the till or order vouchers online once your card is registered with Nectar.
To spend your points in a Sainsbury's store, you must have swiped your card in that store in the previous 12 months.0 -

There is way around is now by the store. They save the transaction, take you to customer service and phone nectar, who remove the points from your card. The discount will then be taken off your shopping0
