OK, so I am officially a cooking numpty!
Just done a lasagne. No problems there. I actually make a pretty damn good one.
However (uh-oh), I put some peppers in it. Nothing out the ordinary I hear you cry. Well yes, maybe not. But I don't even know how to cut them properly!
:rotfl:
I kind of chopped the top off with the stalky thing and there was a bit with loads of seeds on. So I chopped a bit more of the top off, then sliced it into four down the middle, then chopped into smaller bits.
What I want to know is, am I going to poison my family?

You've removed the top/stalk, you've removed the seeds, you'll be fine. Did you remove the pith? The white bit? It's not a disaster if you haven't, but I normally do.
Good luck with your lasagna, bet it's going to be lovely :T :T~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

If you mean the circled bits then yeah I did remove them. Sort of!
It was only after I had chopped them into small bits I noticed it didn't look to nice but couldn't be bothered to cut it off of all of them! :rotfl:
You should of seen me, garlic paste, tomatoe paste, beef gravy granuel things!
I was like Gordon Worrall Oliver! :rotfl:
One more question!
I've heard rumours of people putting bacon in it! Now would one pre-cook the bacon? And if so, how? And I take it you don't put whole rashers in? :undecided0 -

I even make my own breakfast. Optivita with semi-skimmed milk. Only burnt it twice so far.0 -
chopped bacon is lush in the lasagna meat sauce! Cook it with your mince, onions and peppers
And yes, I meant the circled bits

No you wont poison anyone..
the next time you tackle a pepper, try this - get a small sharp knife and puncture the top right up close to the green bit and cut around the green bit with the stalk on, when you have gone all the way round hold the pepper in one hand and the stalk in the other and twist and you will find most of the seeds will come out attatched to the stalk...then just turn the pepper upside down over the bin and tap the bottom and the rest should fall out..then when you cut it open you just need to trim the white membrane bit off :T-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Oooh no! I'm not a fan of onions! They are trying to tell us not to eat them by making us cry when we chop them. Me, I cry if I have to eat them! :rotfl:
I'll try that next time. If we survive this one.0 -
