Not lost on me either but lovely lady and I liked her.  Hopefully she will recover to come back but in the meantime we will do the exercises she has left me with.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

My update: it has snowed again here.  Cold, frozen and  will need to go out again in an hour or so to give the horses more hay and break the water in the trough again.

For the last couple of days I have an impending sense of doom and my anxiety has skyrocketed.  I have no basis for this, I wonder if it just the quiet and the ending of what has been a very difficult year. I might have come out of it OK and I have learned a lot but the end of the year feels very strange to me and I think the dread is a worry that "something will happen" to take away my peace and joy.

  • Do you meditate or pray? I chant (& often recommend Tina Turners book - ‘happiness becomes you ‘
At such moments it’s good to lean on helpful practices that work for you - I think most of us have wobbles at times it’s human

    maybe try the CBT method
    - write down a list of all your thoughts no matter how weird awful angry  they are
    - go back and look at each question individually and ask yourself is this true? Is this thought factually correct ? What is the actual truth here - and wrote down that
    - after looking at all your sad anxious panic thoughts go back and reframe each thought into more truthful fact based reality - its stops you catastrophizing

    example
    step one - thought
I am scared I can’t afford this house - I am on my own
step 2 is this true ?
I currently can afford bills of x so as long as my income is this Ahd I don’t overspend I can afford it
    Step 3 rewrite
my house is lovely and I am able to pay all my bills  I have not been behind on any bills . Maybe I need a bigger ef in case of sudden house issues to feel better but I am fine now

re your friend - he sounds fabulous and a life of theatre and cats sounds quite wonderful -
     such passions are v fulfilling
Glad you all able to help with the costs

your mum’s funeral with the band sounds like a beautiful way to celebrate
luckily both my parents are still here and fine but they both used to love  dancing - v strictly- so I can see how that was perfect and makes you smile admist the grieving

    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

    Hugs.

And yes, 100% agree with what you are thinking. I am going to try to reframe this for you and say this is another piece of housekeeping, clearing and removing of unhelpful energy that your body, soul and psyche are doing to heal you after what you went through. Some people bottle it up and it comes out years later after causing all kinds of issues - you seem to be clearing yours all on your own. It’s not a pleasant process, but once it is done, you will be free of it.

I see LadyWithAPlan’s comments as really useful. It will banish the extraneous ‘blown out of proportion’ worries and you may be left with nothing to worry about (or at least no more than the rest of us) or you may be able to zero in on one of two things that are a genuine concern - once you know what those are (if they exist) you can set a plan. Having  a sense of control of your destiny and how to meet your challenges helps massively.

    Hope you feel brighter soon.
