Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions apply to the RAC Tools Game (“the Promotion”) and entry to the Promotion is acceptance of these terms and conditions. Therefore please read these carefully.
No purchase is necessary to enter the Promotion.
The Promotion is only available to United Kingdom residents over the age of 18.
The promoter of this Promotion is: RAC Motoring Services. Registered Office RAC House, Brockhurst Crescent, Bescot WS5 4AW (“the Promoter”).
The Promotion is not open to employees (or family members of employees) of the Promoter, its agencies, its group companies or anyone else connected with the Promotion.
A user is allowed a total of 5 plays each week; only their highest score each week will be accepted.
To enter the Promotion, please firstly ‘Like’ the RAC Facebook page if accessing the game via Facebook. After doing this, or if accessing the game via the https://www.rac.co.uk/breakdown-cover/tools-game/ landing page, just click ‘Play now!’ to enter your name and email address and accept the T’s & C’s then click “Submit”’ Tools will be falling from the top of the screen to the bottom in approximately 2 seconds. Once an item hits the bottom of the screen, it will bounce once and then disappear within a further two seconds. The number of points that each item is worth is dependent upon how quickly a user clicks it. If a user clicks the item within one second of it appearing they will gain 10 points. If a user takes between 1 - 2 seconds to click on the item then it will be worth 6 points. Once the item hits the ground it will be worth 3 points. Click on as many RAC items as you can within 60 seconds, to be in the top 10 leader board.
Clicking on an incorrect item detracts from the user's current score.
A user is only allowed to play a maximum of 5 times in a week. A user will be identified by their email address. If they have already entered 5 times in that week, they are encouraged to play again next week and link back to the leader board. In the case where there is a draw, the user who obtained the highest score first will be awarded the prize.
The opening date for each week of the competition is Tuesday 27nd August 2013, 3rd , 10th, 17th September 2013. The closing date for each week of the competition is Monday 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd September 2013. The final closing date and time of the Promotion is 11:59pm on Monday 23rd September 2013 (“the Closing Date”). Entries received after the closing date will not be processed.
The winner is automatically selected based on the leader board each week. The user who has the highest score each week will be the winner. “The Winners” will be notified each Thursday: 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th September 2013.
There shall only be a total of four Winners.
The Winners will receive one PS4 (Each valued at £349) (“the Prize”) by 31st January 2014. The prize is subject to availability. The Promoter retains the right to substitute the Prize with another prize of similar value in the event the original Prize offered is not available.
The Winner will be notified by email by the Promoter within 2 days of the Closing Date for the Promotion and given details of how to claim their Prize and to confirm delivery address for the Prize. If the Winner does not respond to such email from the Promoter within 21 days of the time of notification, then the Winner's Prize will be forfeited and the Promoter will be entitled to select another winner (and that winner will have to respond to the email sent to them by the Promoter within 21 days of that email being sent to them or else they will also forfeit their prize).
The Promoter may ask the Winner to provide proof of age and/or country of residence.
The Winners agree to take part in post-Promotion activity.
Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted.
The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and is not redeemable for cash or other prizes. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any costs associated with the Prize and that are not specifically included in the Prize.
Nothing in these terms and conditions shall exclude the liability of the Promoter for death, personal injury, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation as a result of its negligence.
Subject to the above, the Promoter accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering the Promotion or accepting the Prize. The Promoter further disclaims liability for any injury or damage to you or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in connection with the Promotion.
The Promoter shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations where the failure is caused by something outside its reasonable control. Such circumstances shall include, but not be limited to, weather conditions, fire, flood, hurricane, strike, industrial dispute, war, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, inevitable accidents, supervening legislation or any other circumstances amounting to force majeure.
No responsibility is taken for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason. Proof of delivery of the entry is not proof of receipt.
The decision of the Promoter is final and the Promoter will not enter into correspondence relating to its decision.
The Promoter reserves the right to modify the Promotion at any time without prior notice.
The names of the Winners for the Promotion will be available upon request for 4 weeks after the Winners has been notified by sending a stamped self-addressed envelope to: RAC Tools Game, RAC Digital, RAC House, Great Park Road, Bradley Stoke, Bristol, BS32 4QN. The Winners agree to have their name and county disclosed for this purpose.

Its harder than you think, I can get about 500 but no more if any one has tips it might be worth sharing them

Made it on to the leader board on my second try. Try to click them before they hit the ground, also, you get loads of bonus points if you don't click the bogus items

I find this pretty impossible. Getting like 95% accuracy and hitting nearly all of the tools but still couldn't get past 920's. When I get off to a good start the rate at which the tools drop down seems to decrease.

It is difficult, however I hope they change it to random draws, considering people can download software to help them cheat at these sort of games.

I don't think it is just difficult I think it's actually set for certain people to win. Not that it chooses who them people are just they get on at the right time. Happened with another similar type of game where the company admitted it was set for at certain times it gave the person the chance to get more points than normal. Lucky for them who did get it at that time but pointless for anyone else trying.

Most I could get was 915, and i'm normally exceptional at games. There is no way on this earth that someone could have got 2700 legitimately. Even with the bonus points for getting so many in a row. This game was just ridiculous!

I actually managed to get 1225 points at last weeks attempt but it said that I didn't make it to the leadersboard (???) :eek: :mad:

I'm not quite sure why, but anyway it wasn't close to the top score anyway so hey ho.

My latest technique to gain a better score is to click really quickly as many times as poss, about 1cm down from the top of the screen, to try and target the tools as they drop. It was the only way I could manage to get the bigger points for multiple/sequential hits! :rotfl:

Don't waste your time and effort Biker*Chick as you have zero chance of winning. I got onto RAC about this the other day about the cheating but could tell they were not interested at all. They also claimed the maximum you can get is 3800 and that the amount of tools changes whilst you play.

Well I was pretty adamant I did not believe this and I went and researched and downloaded the software most of these cheats use to test the theory. Did this for a few days with help, and I can tell you that the same amount of tools drops every time, I slowed the game down to 0.1% so I could hit every single Tool and not get any wrong. And every single time I did it at different hours over the past few days the number of tools dropped at the same time on the clock and the maximum score you can hit is 1680. Go check the leaderboard and you will see a few 1680's, apart from one of this boards members who is top of the leaderboard and just so happens to have a Mathematics Degree & Computer Engineering Degree.

I also waited for it to get to midnight tonight to see the new empty table as it should be. It wouldn't let me log in even though a new week had started, and when it finally did let me log in around 23 minutes later, miraculously in the space of 2.5 seconds of me logging in new names had already appeared on the leader board with max scores and even became listed above those who scored maximum yesterday lol.

The game is rigged. People on here tried to talk sh*t to me that it wasn't.
