disappearing 'tescolaptops'

just being nosy re the tescolaptop competition that was here yesterday - I only caught the beginning if the thread so don't know how it panned out, however out of interest i tried to look them up again this morning and the facebook page and website are no longer there :eek: do you think Tesco got on to 'em? :D

there are still some reviews for them about but the links obviously no longer work

    From the replies on the post it seemed that some people had contacted Tesco to ask whether they were connected, and it sounded like Tesco were not happy about the use of their name. I reckon they've stepped in and pulled the site down.

    It was a scam by the looks of it both the facebook page and the website have gone. The competition thread has been deleted on here too.

    They had even posted fake reviews on a review site to make it look genuine

    I reported that page as a scam to facebook, as I'm sure quite a few others did. Still, I'm surprised how quickly it was taken down, makes a nice change!

    I have a feeling they took the facebook page and the website down themselves when they realised people had spotted it was a scam.

    It looked like more than just a like or email farming set up as they were selling laptops.
