Not sorry we don't have to use Jumble sales now ILC. I never had new clothes as a child. Think that is why I let DD get so many clothes! Luckily she likes Primark.
Remember having to phone my aunt and uncle from a phone box so that they could tell my parents I had got to where I was going. Do like mobiles from that point of view as we can go away and get texts all the time.

We still have some old phone boxes here near our Town Hall. I don't think the wanted to get rid of them. I like the mobiles for the practicality of them but I hate the way we've all become alienated with them! wherever you go you see folks texting and playing with their phones! I'm lucky that hubby rarely calls me but when I'm with sis its so annoying when her mobile rings constantly and you don't get to finish conversation!

I'm trying to comp on laptop but network keeps crashing again!

Good Morning,

Looking quite nice here this morning - lull before the storm! Hopefully get all the washing dry. Will need to get organised for our 3 nights away. Not sure when we go away for 3 nights, seems a bit long to leave kids and DS3 is on holiday too. Think DD is having a friend to stay and she is 16 so it will be perfectly legal even if DS isn't always here. DD is in bed feeling sorry for herself as she is full of the cold. Lots of her friends are off school too.
DS2 had job interviews in Sydney today so hope he got on OK. He seems to be enjoying himself and DS1 is enjoying having his brother with him.

Know what you mean about mobiles wingo - peeps vanish to answer them all the time. I was going to say my kids do this but my sisters and their OHs are even worse. One of my sisters is always phoning mum too which drives me mad. How often do you have to phone someone in a day?

Anyway, hope everyone has a lucky Friday 13th!

some workman chap was telling us when he came to do some repairs the other day so did a bit of googling
& seems he's right :eek:

It amazes me how much kids actually expect to get these days. Glad I didn't have any, they're an expensive commodity :eek::rotfl:

I've still got a few vinyl records fire**fly that I loved and couldn't bring myself to get rid of Nothing to play them on though

Have to take puss cat to the cattery this morning. I'm really not looking forward to it.

I didn't sleep very well last night, the last few nights in fact, and I'm knackered
I've got loads to do today as well as we're off early tomorrow morning.

Good morning all, it seems like some have you have a lovely sunny day, we have had rain through the night and it looks set to be the same most of the day here.

firefly - glad to see you still have all your little birds and sqids + cat all playing nicely. Lovely pic of the old gramophone we had one similar to that as well.

Sheils - good luck for your DS2 with his interview and hope your DD feels better soon.

Walwin - hope all goes well at the cattery, its always a wrench leaving them but he/she will be OK. Hope you have a lovely holiday try and relax and enjoy.

Glad we don't have to go around jumble sales now. My mother always used to cut down her and family clothes to make them smaller for us or I had to wear my Sister's after she had finished with them.

Remember the old vinyls well in fact Fred's son still has loads, he seems to collect all sorts, you can hardly move in his flat.

Must get on and dry my hair as OH is getting impatient to go out.

I tried listening to some of my old vinyl a few years ago and it sounded dreadful after being used to CDs.

Hope you have a lovely holiday walwin. I often think people without kids have an easy time without having to worry about them all the time!

Postman just brought me some John Frieda products - thought I had missed out on that comp.

Morning all :wave: drizzly rain here! Had to dry my fringe off when I got back from school!

I still have a load of old records too walwin that I can't get rid of. A lot of them got damaged in garage which I was gutted about as I collected them for years. Got white labels, picture labels, ltd editions etc which are all worth money but I just haven't got round to selling them! Wasn't long ago when finatra used to pop in as our resident dj to play all the old songs for us!

We had to have hand me downs too, some too short or long which we still would wear but they were five of us so money was scarce!

Well done getting some John Frieda goods Sheils :j I entered a few of those and hubby too when he left fb on in his name! I wonder if we have won any!

Forgot to say....I bought a scratch card and scratched it off with a 'lucky' 2p that DD found and won £15! Maybe fri 13th is lucky after all!
