'wage collapse' = small decrease in 'real' wages

sometimes this happens in a recession

So France showed a small rise, but they're in recession and have much higher unemployment. I'm not sure who's winning really.

I'm thinking now growth is looking stronger, hopefully wages will start to rise as productivity increases.

    Like house prices rising?..........

Genuine question, have house prices in the past risen when the UK was in recession?.....With or without Government intervention?

    probably not but

this recession has been one of the longest on record

we are coming out of a recession

the population increased 400,000 last year

government is pumping in an unprecedented amount of cheap money into the economy

previous recessions may not be a good model to measure the current one

Just what the country needs a massive financial gamble, one that the next generation will pick up the tab for.

On a personal note ,past recessions have hit far worse than this one.
