Hi guys,
Our venue gives us candelabras for our centrepieces but having thought about it we dont really like them and they werent very clean when we saw them so were looking for ideas for cheap centrepieces. Weve thought about geting some cheap vase and putting some bunches of flowers in them but wondered if anyone had some more inspired ideas. The florist says she will do the flowers if we can find cheap vases but shes going to charge like 15 a centrepiece. Our colours purple and were going to have 6 tables.
Thanks

We are doing decorated jars with flowers in that we have grown and going to bulk them up with some cheap shop bought ones.0

How about some pillar candles? I'd go for different sizes, and maybe scatter some coloured stones around them. Here are the sort of candles I'm thinking of:

Or lots of other candle ideas:

Do you have a colour scheme, if so then it will make it easier for us all to envisage what would work.0

Our colour scheme is purple
Thanks for all the suggestions so far0 -
I know you said you didn't really like them, but have you tried purple candles in the candelabra, with maybe ivy hanging down from them? That wouldn't be very expensive, would be really unusual and I think they'd look rather fab.
ETA: Also, how about hanging crystals from them, so the light catches them?
I have to admit to being rather biased, as we had candelabra with ivory candles and they were gorgeous!0 -
we are having purple and are going to ikea for pots and orcihds (not until nearer the time)
we have cost it out at approx £15 in total but can use the centrepieces as presents.0 -

Thanks, its not that im against candleabras as such but thats these ones are quite tack and rather dirty. I suspect they will have a wedding on the friday before us so we couldnt even take them and get them clean. Its worth thinking about jazzing them up though.
I like the ikea idea may go at the weekend as if like to give grandparents centrepieces but im not sure. Thanks for all the help guys0 -

That's what we had, it was only about £8 a table as the orchids were £4 then I think it was £2-£3 for the cream pot with lace top. I used a few 75p bags of stones to weigh down the pots.
They made lovely gifts too.:j I love bargains:jI love MSE0 -
double stork orchids are £6 each (earlier this year), and the pots where £9 but you could find cheaper... plus stones0
