If I were you i'd try and find some way of making that trip, ok your dfd would be put off by a month or two but this thread is all about boosting your mental state (not that I'm saying your mental or anything haha) and imagine the boost to your debt busting abilities if you came back after a short trip to visit your friends??? don't write it off without at least trying xxx
Thanks.. and you're right, I should try, I think it would be really good for me. I might not be able to manage it until a few months time but it'd be something to look forward to. Going to see if I can raise the £66 for my new passport through other ways (see what I can put on eBay etc) rather than it coming out of my wages cos it seems like such a big chunk out of my monthly budget. In fact I might stick something in my signature to keep track.
My workmates further depressed me before I left today by talking about house prices and how hard it was for first time buyers, and then asking me if I was thinking about buying... considering they know what I earn it was a silly question, and that's without telling them about my horrible credit record! BUT on the positive side, one did tell me about some new flats she'd heard about which are up for rent, and if they really are the amount per month she thinks they are, they could be ideal.. fingers crossed.
Thankyou for this thread

I'm about to go outside and pot some plants up that I've had in the greenhouse. I also need to do some ironing so I'll try really hard to tackle that but it has been a crap day at work and I'm feeling delicate so may put off the ironing till tomorrow.
redsquirrel80 - I agree that you should try to make that trip...sounds like you need it and you may come back 10 times more positive and able to continue debt busting. Go for it

hmm. well today was reminded of all those little things I used to do when I originally joined MSE. So this afternoon I decided to write down a list of things to do everyweek:
Do my pigsback clicks
Start thinking about christmas (i know i know)
Boots Tarting
Trying to grab a bargain or save money on every purchase
Keep my budget in check
Also, three weeks ago I decided to go back to cash only spending.
I withdraw a set amount out of the bank each week, this covers: food, petrol, personal spending, saving for xmas, car tax, birthdays, swimming, pocket money, school, clothing and a small amount of misc spending (things like parking) Everything else stays in the bank to cover direct debits and my loan. Any extra left goes into savings:) I forgot how much simpler life is when you just spend cash:)November NSD's - 70 -

Fantastic news! Only a little way to go now...
My positive thing today ... is a bit giggly too, so bear with me.
I bumped into a chappie that I went on a few dates with a few years back. Anyways, he's getting married, bless him, and I wished him all the luck in the world. Aw - he blushed! And it made me giggle because back in the day he was all "blokey", gym-obsessed (which he isn't now
) and unflappable. And off he went grinning from ear to ear. Which is a positive thing, isn't it? :T  What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160 -

yeah I think thats a positive, being able to stay on friendly terms with guys you've been out with is a good thing, it doesn't happen very often up here, tend to find they treat you bad then hide when they next see ya in fear you'll cut off their bits....not that I'm scary :rolleyes:0 -
Hello Minnie, see there's my positive thing for the day, an old friend has come back into mse. Nice to see you minnie, how are you?:A

Hello Toto but shhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I shouldn't be here! Too much to do! I love LJ's new idea and think it's nice to join in with stuff like this. As JamieDodger says, it's the way MSE used to be and it's good to see it back!
Anyway, how are things in Drummerland? What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160
