Prove that you have the gift of the gab when it comes to cricket banter and win a year’s supply of Marston’s Pedigree.
The first Ashes Test starts tomorrow at Trent Bridge, then it’s off to Lord’s starting on July 18, Old Trafford on August 1, the Emirates Durham on August 9, before the climax at The Kia Oval beginning on August 21.

Every day of the England versus Australia battle we want you to tweet your own sledges using #pedigreebanter
Our experts will pick the best to appear in The Times the next morning and one lucky punter will win a year’s supply of Marston’s.

1. The competition will run from 11am to 3:40pm on each of the following days:
July: 10th, 11th, 12th, 18th, 19th
August: 1st, 2nd, 9th, 12th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd
It will also run:
From 11am on 13th July to 3.40pm on 14th July
From 11am on 20th July to 3.40pm on 21st July
From 11am on 3rd August to 3.40pm on 4th August
From 11am on 10th August to 3.40 on the 11th August
From 11am on 24th August to 3.40pm on 25th August
2. To enter, you must tweet your sledge using #pedigreebanter. Your sledge must be your own original creation. You can enter more than once each day, as long as each entry is different.
3. If you win your tweet will be published the next day in paper. We may publish tweets other than the winning tweet, and publication does not necessarily mean you have won a prize.
4. One winner will be selected each day of the competition. The winner will be selected by a panel of judges including Gershon Portnoi. Racist, abusive or otherwise offensive sledges will not be considered – this is a competition celebrating good humoured banter.
5. Each winner will win a total of 96 bottles of Marston’s Pedigree. You must be over 18 to enter and receive the prize. ID will be required.
