Do you have proof where you lived at that time it covers, if so send it to the utility compnay
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Did you ring the utilities company up when you moved out with your final meter reading?

Have you got any evidence of what the reading was.

IF your ex landlord has provided your company with a reading because you have mis-read or because he is being a bit naughty, how are you going to prove it?

Calling 101- wanting to speak to the police about it before even speaking to the utilities company to find out how this came about just is a waste of time.

You need to deal with this on Monday, so spend the time getting your evidence of your readings etc and then speak to the company on Monday and find out what has happened.

I'm a bit confused. You appear to be saying someone (you think the landlord) has given your name to the utiltiy company as being responsible for the utilities.
If it was for a time when you didn't live in the property then hopefully a complaint to the company concerned with evidence of the new tenancy and any proof you weren't in the property at the time will hopefully do the trick.
If the arrears relate to a time when you were in the property then things will be trickier. Basicallly when you are in house you are normally responsible for paying the utilities. Sadly I don't think that the utility company will accept that you had an agreement with the landlord and will go after any/all of the tenants the at the time (even if you write and complain and send them a copy of the tenancy agreement which I presume states the landlord will pay the utilities). If it is as I suspect you will need to pay it and then take out a private action against the landlord in court using the tenancy agreement.
I think you are probably stuck with this on your credit file and it will be a case of damage limitation but perhaps someone else knows different/better?

So you rent included all utilities etc?

Your tenancy agreement should evidence this, should it not?

no not as responsable for the utilities that was down to him in the contract.

The money owed is debts on the bills for a couple of years. while living in the property we had a bailiff come round regulally they were trying to get the landlord on a meter. It appears what he has done is put gas and elec in my name which is illegal. He paid some on the bill in january and nothing since then. I have no paper work for these bills no account numbers ect. The bill break down is 3985 on gas and 175 on elc.
Legally and morallly I am not responsable for these bills what has been done is fraud and I am asking if anyone knows how I sort this out.

I'm moving to a rented place week subject to referances and to a new area the job I am suppose to be getting requires a credit check and due to this it looks lkke I wont get the job nor the house. This is a nightmare

It should do but my violent ex partner has all the paperwork due to me leaving whilst pregnant due to dv. This was all agreed with the landlord. Just to add not sure if it helps but this house is a house share three bedrooms with four tennants all on induvidual contracts saying the same thing all bills included. A simelar thing happened with the council tax but the ll hadnt put anyones name on it the bill was around 7500£. He was taken to court for this.

    Thanks
