For nursery.
Shes not keen on sandwiches, wraps, cold pasta, rice or couscous.
I always pop a bit of fruit in and a yoghurt but im struggling for ideas savoury wise. She will eat cheese cubed and cucumber.
Any suggestions please?
Thanks

What do you usually give her at home? Can you not give something similar in her lunchbox?
Would she eat something like carrot sticks with hummous or cream cheese? What about quiche, salad, fritatta, pizza slice?
Would she eat spicy things like pakoras, onion bhajis, samosas?
Alternatively have you tried googling "lunch box ideas - I'm sure there are loads of websites with ideas.

Pasties/pies, pastry based thing for something filling?
Scones?
Crackers/flatbreads like pitta or naan?
If she doesn't like sliced bread sandwiches, what about rolls?
I sometimes used to put a jacket potato in a lunchbox, or steamed new potatoes and raw carrot sticks/mangetout/baby corn with a pot of hummus.
Samosas with some hummus also go down well.
Like Joedenise says, anything you usually give for lunch could be packed up?Love and compassion to all x0 -

At 3 whether she is keen on sandwiches and wraps etc or not, I would be sending these in with her every now and again (and probably quite often). The absolute best way to get fussy 3 year olds to eat new stuff is for them to see all their friends happily tucking in to the same kind of food, and this stuff is staples in most lunchboxes. You can always put in a yoghurt and some fruit as well so that she has something to eat if she decides not to try the sandwich but I would suspect that she will.
A fussy 3 year old eater doesn't HAVE to become a fussy 4 year old eater after all, and she has another 15 years of school life and pack ups to get through. You'll be pleased in the long run if you can get her past this stage now.0 -
Mine likes dry ryvita - any variety, even the seeded stuff:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

I wouldn't think a nursery would be happy about a 3 year old having something hot in a flask - would probably be considered a H&S issue.

Well I would imagine the staffing at a nursery would be more than adequate for them to open it for her and put it in a bowl! I didn't suggest it thinking she would manage it herself!
I am a school dinnerlady and regularly help 5-7 year olds get their hot lunch out of flasks....:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
I used to put the soup in just a nice warm-to-hot for children aged 3 and up to 6. Just the temperature they would find it comfortable to consume, so not hot enough to injure.
I always put a little spare beaker in for it to be poured into.
Someone was usually willing to open it for them, though the lunch box would come back with bits coated in the bit of soup they hadn't consumed. Easy washed.Love and compassion to all x0 -
Don't worry too much if she's hungry she'll either eat or she won't. I was so fussy when I was little I just used to eat 1 slice of bread with butter and a yoghurt and nothing else and my daughter who's 22 and eats pretty much anything now had ham sandwiches everyday she was at school because that's all she would eat.0

A lot of schools do not allow lower school children to have flasks, it depends on your LEA or Head teacher.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
