Should I be allowed 'techy' prizes?

Scene in Prudent household on Thursday evening:

Dd and pru in sitting room with laptop and newly arrived sony mp3 prize.

Me: Can you show me how to download songs onto this?
DD: Sure, do you want to put cd's on or download from net?
Me: I would like to learn how to do both:
DD: Ok what you do this...
Me: No, don't tell me show me, I find it easier to pick things up that way.
DD: ok

DD patiently shows Pru for about 10 minutes how to do both and downloads two songs onto mp3.

Me: I want to try myself now.
DD: Ok , I 'll need to stay around to rescue you then. You could do that tomorrow and I could take the day off school to sort out the mess you will get into.
Me: Good try, but I am going to do it now.
DD: (resigned) ok then

20 minutes later and a just a few prompts

Me: (proud as punch): I have downloaded 10 songs look!
DD: Well done, try choosing one to listen to.
Me: (total indiganation): Would you look at this, its only given 'I don't like Mondays' 5/10 - that my all time favourite song.
DD: (rolls around helplessly for 5 minutes, tears of laughter streaming down face and holding her sides): Mum, its a machine, it doesn't have opinions. The song is number 5 of 10 in the alphabetical playlist.
Me: oh (then joins dd in more laughter. Both hold sides for ages).
DD: Mum you shouldn't be allowed to win techy prizes.
Me: But I like them......
DD: I'm off to phone my friends I so have to tell them about this.
Me: oh

Wait until you win something good and bribery then comes back to your side.
I know exactly what you feel like. I need to sit down for and afternoon just to work out how to set up my top of the range (5 years ago) video (ok techies,yes I know its video ~ but its never really been used) ~ plus which, I think sings and dances ~ then I have to work it all out again in another weeks time.
Its worse, when you have to ask your 9 year old grandaughter how to do something!!!!!!!!!! and she says come here, let me show you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DD ended up with the E65 phone I won ~ far more on it than I'll ever use - she's supposed to be getting me a new battery for her old one -
See now what you've started Prudent.
I'm really going to have to work out how to get these ****** smilies back.
And to answer your question, of course you should be able to win - go back to begining of my rant.

at least you can get pic up on the side under your name my hubbie told me how to do the bit at the bottom so may have a go.

lol - my friend and i thought at first it stood for lots of love there are still a lot of terms i do not understand I assume OH is other half?? is DD dear daughter? see i am much worse
