Some advice please re bankruptcy and employers

Hi there!
I'm just new to the forum and hoping for some advice! I'll try to keep this brief - I'm from Northern Ireland and have just recently moved to Australia on a temporary 4 year visa. Back in Northern Ireland I have a house which had been rented out for the past number of years. Unfortunately for the past 9-10 months the tenants have not been paying their rent and have just been evicted - they have left a lot of mess behind them which is going to take £hundreds to sort out! The house is in massive negative equity so I am unable to sell. I also have 2 credit cards debts which have been taken over by debt collection agencies. I have decided the best thing would be to go bankrupt. (I have only been in Australia for a few weeks and my permanent residency is technically Northern Ireland so I am still eligible to go bankrupt there.)
My main issue is that I have just found a job in Australia. Although the salary is enough for me to live on here, I can't afford to pay my debts back home and the stress of having them hanging over me is becoming too much to cope with.
My main query is, if I do apply for bankruptcy would my employers here in Australia find out?? I really don't want it to negatively impact on my new life here.
Hope someone can help - thanks!!

Cannot see why they should, although it is public record here, so if they wanted to check and knew where to look they could.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
