I'm trying to find a good place to get wedding insurance, and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations? There doesn't seem to be anywhere that compares both prices and customer ratings!

Hi!
We used EandL wedding insurance which was recommended to us. They have various levels of Insurance so you can pick what suits you. They were also very reasonably priced. I think for us it was about £20 for cover as the lowest level of Insurance covered all our needs.0 -
We've used Debenhams - from £39 (£15 cashback via Quidco and £5 Debenhams voucher)
I've just found this: http://www.bestweddinginsurance.co.uk/ but it only compares Debenhams, John Lewis & Weddingplan and there's no review information there... Oddly enough, these were the three companies we looked at, John Lewis seemed more expensive and we'd obviously never heard of Weddingplan, so decided on Debenhams as (hopefully!) it's a good brand.0 -
We're using E & L too

Thanks for that - did you get good service with them? They were one we were considering but found a couple of bad reviews!0 -
Hi,
We found them very helpful on the phone and the documents came through quickly covering everything we needed so I did fell we had good customer service with them.
As we were fortunate enough that everything went smoothly with our Wedding we didn't have to claim on the insurance so I couldn't comment on what their service is like if you actually needed to use it, and I would imagine that the claim side of things is when you really know if an insurance company is good or not.0 -
I was going to recommend Debenhams too - good shout Jonesy:rotfl:0

Yeah I also got mine at Debenhams after reading some terrible reviews of E and L.Married 30/08/14 :heartpuls0

We're looking into wedding insurance at the moment but I would strongly advise against E&L. We used them to insure our dog for many years and always found them to be great until the time when out pet fell ill and needed treatment, they refused to pay out, were rude, disinterested and generally unhelpful. When we told our vet he said they were the worst insurance company he'd ever had dealings with and that their practice warned customers against using them. Hard lesson learnt for us :-(

When is the best time to take out wedding insurance? We are looking at venues in about 2 weeks. Should I take it now to cover us?0

Our venue let us make a provisional booking & then we confirmed and paid the deposit 7 days later - we organised our insurance inbetween (so before any money changed hands!)0
