  • Eek I've really neglected this thread haven't I! I've just had to read through the thread to see where I was and what I need to update!

So we have budgeted £2k for the winter improvements to the house. Its really important to us as we struggled to keep warm over the winter. The fire is being installed tomorrow and we then have to source some curtains for the huge windows! That will be the bulk of the cost.

Using the One Account we have loaned ourselves the £2k to pay for it so our plan is to pay off this loan asap. It currently stands at £1868.14 outstanding. Payments to date have included Quidco, a work thing I did which paid £100, and moving the 'loose change' in the account (difference between budgeted figures and actuals).

I've been getting on well with having the cash purse and not using debit cards. We stay on budget each week which makes a nice change! Its a 5 Monday month though so I've had to save up an extra £140 for next week.

We have a new Aldi opened in our town last week and I went along today. Managed to spend £40 but had a £5 off voucher (£5 will go into loan) but got loads for my money. Hoping we like it all as we eat it this week as shopping here could save us money.

  • We had another stall at the nearly new sale this morning and we made £200! We were very pleased and have moved that straight over to the winter loan pot. It now stands at £1416.51, so over £500 paid off :)

We picked up our curtains earlier too so as soon as they hit the CC I can sort out the payment and am hopeful that we may come in £100 or so below our £2k target, so that can move straight over to the repayment pot. Have also agreed a sale of £15 with a friend for some baby bits so that will head over when we have it.

Now that all the stuff has been sorted for todays sale, I plan to ebay/FB sell the rest of it. Will do my best to get some listed this week.

  • I'm just taking a break from the major sort out/decluttering that I've started. The office is the object of my attention at the moment. Its really such a mess with boxes of stationery and bits that hubby acquired when his office was shut. Plus boxes of stuff that have migrated here and been dumped.

Just shredded a load of paperwork, and made a huge pile for the recycling tomorrow. Also found some bits and pieces that I will eBay after our trip to Cornwall next week. My theory is that if I can get the office looking organised and welcoming I will have no excuse not to get on and eBay and work more productively on my other business ventures.
