I had a French friend who just loved Birds custard. He used to buy it up when visiting here (or we'd take it out) and then use it as a hostess gift when he went out to supper. These days you can buy it in sachets so far more postage friendly.

Plastic bottle of Marmite, can't get yeast extract there for love nor money. There are US websites catering to the desire for British foods, you might look there for inspiration.

We have a friend in France who can't get Aero, but they have all sorts of "Jaffa" cakes (including awesome ones with a choc mousse filling). A friend from Australia said she really missed Foxes glacier mints & fruits, so you definitely need to find out specifically what is hard to get in Germany.

All of the things listed are English.

So I'm throwing Tunnock's Teacakes into the mix. They are light, but may get squished!

    Anyone think of anything Welsh?
