Yes I noticed that too! It's weird, I watched the start of the programme again to check a few things on the simnel cake and I downloaded the recipe from the website and there are definitely a few differences between the two. Oh well, the cake is in the oven and we'll see what happens in a couple of hours. I'm slightly worried about putting the whole thing under the grill at the end though!
And Nikkisun - your hot cross buns look amazing!0 -
Thanks all - have made hot cross buns in the breadmaker before but never by hand - can't believe how light and fluffy they are and sooo much nicer than shop bought!
It's definitely making me think I should try some of Mr Hollywood's other recipes.xxx Nikki xxx0 -

The COLD blooming was a revelation, it has completely changed the way I activate Yeast.
It makes it a lot more failsafe good for Beginners like us who wish to bake all sorts of goods we can buy, but better still make with excellent quality control of course!#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.
Reading whatever books I want to the rescue!:money::beer[/B

Really easy - I just used a sandwich bag with the corner cut off - it's just a straight line across and you don't need to be precise.xxx Nikki xxx0 -
My first go at the hot cross buns, slightly overdone and don't look as nice as Nikki's but they should taste fine0
