Did anyone watch the Easter Bake Off masterclass tonight? If so, did my ears deceive me or did they say to use the juice of 12 lemons for the icing for those biscuits? With the price of lemons it wouldn't be very economical.

That's what I heard too: OH came through to see if I was alright when I squeaked "how many" at the top of my voice!

Mind you - I am seriously tempted to make the simnel cake for my colleagues at work.

I'm sure that's what he said but the recipe states 1-2 teaspoons of lemon juice.

I think he read it wrong!!

Tut, tut, tut Rupert Penry Jones :rotfl: Mind you he's so gorgeous he's forgiven.

When Paul was cutting up the dough for the hot cross buns my youngest DD said "where are the apples". He'd put huge chunks in, but during the proving process they seemed to just disappear.

Yes, I noticed this plus ds1 and I thought they said "glacier cherries" - very cold ones I presume and 50g of marzipan instead of (I assume) 500g. I can roll things out thinly but I couldn't get 2 circles and 11 disciples out of 50g:D

Enjoyed the programme though Told dh he needs to get going on the HC buns this weekend - I'm doing the cake and the biscuits.

Oh yes, we noticed that too :rotfl:I'm surprised at RPJ - presumably he didn't read through it before recording.

Haven't watched the second one yet but really enjoyed the first show and will be forever grateful to MrH for solving why my handmade bread was always only suitable for building a wall with lol
I was making it too dry and adding flour when I kneaded since watching his 'sloppy mix' when he did a bakeoff masterclass and the oil on the worktops I can actually eat it without loosing teeth :D
