We only have 22 at the wedding, so I've said we'll provide ties and buttonholes to all the men, but on ebay the ones I've been looking at i've just realised are classed as ladies :rotfl: I thought of presenting them in a little box with tie rolled up and the buttonhole on top with a message to them.....

I didn't realise it was traditional to provide them, I thought it was a nice extra touch - drat ha ha I thought guests would think 'how lovely' yet they are most likely thinking they'd get them anyway .

  • The ladies ones are usually a little elaborate. For our men they are simple plain white roses, with a bit of extra foliage for the groom. The women are having double white roses with pearls attatched.

    We are giving them to:
    groom
    best men x2
    ushers x2
    bride's dad
    groom's mum's partner
    mother of the bride
    mother of the groom.

It's very common for ladies ones to match their outfits rather than the colour scheme. We have our yellow ones for groom, best man, usher and Dads x 2 who are all in co-ordinating suits, but if we'd had ladies ones they'd have chosen the colour themselves to match their outfits as a yellow buttonhole would look ridiculous on my OH Mum's pinky-brown outfit!!

Our Mums ones have some extra flowers in and the male ones are just roses.

Ladies have corsages and men have button holes, corsages are a button hole and then little flowers added to them so they look like a really really little posy on a pin or on a magnet and a button hole is just normally one flower with alittle foliage, but inless you have really fussy people coming I doubt anyone would notice!
