I hope you don't mind, but I thought I'd start a thread so we can get an update on how everyone's doing pre and post bankruptcy…like who's for the chopping block next…Bakey? Has Blind finished his SoA? Is Alan still wading thru his 'to do' list or has he taken up permanent residence in the Bankrupt Arms? Anybody due a date with the OR? Anybody heard about an early discharge????? Questions, questions, questions…the life of a BR is never dull :rotfl:

Well, I'll get the ball rolling.
I am in month 2 of bankruptcy. Following a letter from the OR requesting an IPA of £156 pcm on 14/04/07, I managed to rework my I&E into a deficit of £176. I'm still waiting to hear how that has gone down with the OR.
None of my creditors have as yet been informed apart from Natwest. (At least, only Natwest have written to me saying they are closing the account due to a bankruptcy order.)
I have no idea if my name was in the paper.BCSC Member 70:j

            7 Months into BR.
OR has been 'released as trustee'.
Early discharge procedure has begun, i.e creditors asked for any objections.

Fingers crossed for you too fermi...why would the creditors object? Do they ever?
How does your post BR 7 months compare with your pre BR 7 months? Glad you did it? Any major problems...just curious that's all.0

 Hey Neko,
I remember you asking about your I&E A/C but never heard that you'd submitted a revised one more in keeping with our continuous struggle to meet our monthly commitments (aka Not Paying an IPA).
I downloaded the "Household Income & Expenditure Survey" with a view to posting a thread with guidelines based on the same inormation as the O.R uses, but I'm not going to get in done before we go away.
I hesitate to say a holiday because that would seem profligate; we're staying in a friend's villa for free, the flights cost us £30 all in, and our children hired the car for us. So that's 10 days in the sun £30 + spending money; that's a model bankrupt's holiday  and wine, and partying until dawn.

They very rarely object. This only really happens when they can provide new info to the OR. For example, assets you have not declared or other unsettled issues. It is a formality normally. They have 28 days to respond to the OR's letters, plus 7 to allow for postal delays. Then the OR should post a discharge notice in court.
However, as I have read on other forums, the early discharge procedure is very low on the list of OR's priorities. In other words, just because the procedure has started, doesn't mean it will get finished, as the OR's are very busy.
To be honest, I am happy with the 12 months if that is what happens.
The 7 months before my BR were the most stressful of my life, and although it hasn't been a walk in the park post BR I am so glad I did it. Hehe, yes I'll do what I need to to avoid an IPA. Although I'll point out that my first one was woefully inaccurate
Will definitely keep everyone posted on how it goes.
Rich, a great idea, but you may also find it more useful to start a thread on here, with people posting their I&Es as accepted by the OR . Indeed, we could turn that into a sticky of broad guidelines for acceptable amounts. I can help with a single persons soa - people with families will have to let us know what their OR accpeted. We may then be able to work out some sort of rough guidelines for writing a I&E for the OR. Great stuff!BCSC Member 70:j
