I don't understand this... (blood tests)

Just thought I'd update actually.
I got ill today- no clear idea what it was/is but I needed to see the GP and got to see the GP as an emergency, I mentioned the blood tests which they don't and wont have a copy of (the tests were done by another NHS Trust and this means their computerised systems are not linked). I also mentioned though that I had a new set of blood tests done last week so the GP didn't take too much in I think (added to that it was not the reason I was there for). I feel a bit exhausted at the moment and not so sure I have the energy to go chasing for the answers anymore. I have the next specialist appointment in a few weeks who will have my next set of test results so may be I will just wait until then. I think things got a bit worse over the last week and I just feel so much more tired as a result, maybe it's not my place to be curious over it anyway because if it were a serious issue the specialist would have told me or something would have been requested/done as a direct result rather then more tests. I think it's more my curiosity then anything else!
Will let you all know if I hear anything a few weeks away but thanks for all your help.0 -
Thanks but not sure it applies: my iron count was too high! Very odd I know but not when I consider that I take multi-vit pills aimed at women.
Friend has just been told the same. He was sent for further blood tests to establish whether the cause was genetic or not. The consultant was very clear that it was important to know and to treat it.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Thanks, I've had another test since and will be getting the results from that at my next appointment so I will be able to ask more questions then, am hoping having two tests to compare with- will by then have a list I'm sure!
I'm pretty sure the high iron count is due to the huge volumes of green vegetables and Quorn/soya related products I gobble through!
Am a bit under the weather (cough/cold) and feeling really drowsy and tired so not in the right frame of mind to go pushing my GP for questions (let alone actually trying to get through on the phone!!). As long as it's not life and death I'm not worried, it's just more of a "what the..." curiosity and wanting to know why and how rather then just what it means health wise, I never knew the size of your blood cells were measured or indicated anything in the first place.0
