One of the survey sites only does shopping vouchers as their rewards. I dithered over the Boots and Amazon vouchers, thinking I could usefully use them for gifts, but in the end went for a clothing voucher fully with the intention of treating myself to something.
Heigh ho. At least there won't be anything spent in my clothing category.
I'm feeling a bit guilty, but not enough to use it for a birthday present....0 -

Had some bad news today. Had a letter from CC4 saying they will be putting the APR up to 19.9 from May. This will put my DFD back by a month, but I suppose it could be worse. I've done a 'soft search' for a balance transfer on MSE, and only have a 10% chance of being accepted at the moment, so there's no point applying for a lower APR at the moment. My biggest problem is one of over indebtedness, so until I've paid quite a bit off I'm not going to be able to reduce the interest rates anywhere. Maybe in a year's time I'll be able to have a shop around and get some of this debt on lower interest.

*Insert some motivational quote about setbacks being there to challenge you/coming out better etc etc*
No, honestly, you're doing great - just keep going and assess it again at another timeMy Debt Free Diary

Well it might still be blooming nippy out there, but it's been amazing to see some blue sky and sunshine here :j
Have planted a tray of cut and come again salad leaves - never grown them before so I shall see what happens. I've got them in the utility room in a sunny spot. Have also been doing a bit of clearing in the garden, and am rewarding myself with making some garden plans later. My garden is small so I need to work out what veg. I can grow in containers, and what can go in a bed. It's very exciting
Had a good look through my credit reports yesterday, and found an old credit card registered at a previous address with some credit it on it! So have 'phoned them, and they're transferring it to my bank a/c Tuesday, and closing the a/c. I will move it straight over to CC 2 as soon as I've got it.
Done my menu plan and shop, and am still using things up from cupboards/fridge, so haven't done a freezer inventory yet.
Feeling chipper today0 -
Did some planting in the garden this evening: carrots, cherry toms, toms, peas, mangetout, sweetpeas, parsnips - all in greenhouse/conservatory now
Had to come in because it started chucking it down - grrrr! However, a good weekend forecast at last, so fingers crossed.
Sold 3 things on Ebay today, and have swept the money out of Paypal into bank, and have set up transfer to CC2. Checked bank for refund discussed above, and it's appeared. Transferred straight to CC2 - DFD has come forward a month!!
DD has hopped on board, and is going to make her own lunches, and we are going to encourage each other to get it sorted the night before (WOW!!!)

I believe you can 'refuse' the increase in interest rate but there is I think a time limit so act quickly. You then won't be able to use the card but at least the interest on the accumulated debt doesn't increase.
Not sure where the info on this is but probably on the cc stuff in the strap line.
Good Luck. You're doing really well.CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420 -

Things seem to going really well for me at the moment - mostly because I've been selling loads of stuff on Gumtree/Ebay.
But also because being conscious of the debt problem means I think twice before frittering money away on a coffee etc. It doesn't make sense to be wasting money on frivolity when I'm transferring every spare penny earned in cashback from Mysupermarket etc to the credit card.
Just transferred nearly 60 pounds just today, down to sales, and also I complained to the courier when something arrived damaged, and they refunded the charge and cost of item in full. I'm feeling very positive about it all on one hand, but am also despairing at how difficult it seems to be to even trim one month off my DFD.
Dad rushed to hospital again yesterday, so am going to spend the weekend with Mum/at hospital, so must be very wary of nurturing myself too whenever I'm back.
Have a lovely weekend everyone
