Boo's Diary - Debt free in 2 years!

Hi Everyone

I've been advised by a couple of people to keep a DFW diary so I thought that it would be really good for me and am hoping that should I start to stray you can all shout at me or give me some advice on where I'm going wrong or what I need to be doing if that's ok?

I'm 22 years old and after having my lightbulb moment about 2 weeks ago after reading some of the threads here on MSE I realised the extent of my debts and thought I should stop being so ashamed of myself and admit the truth of it all so here I am.

My target date is April 2009 to be debt free other than maybe my Student Loan - although I would like to clear some of that if I can too.

I am currently selling on Ebay when possible and have about £20 already but any words of encouragement and advice would definetly help as I find my feet.

Thank you in advance

Suzanne

Good luck boo  look forward to reading your diary.

Sorry not seen your previous posts, but are you keeping a spending diary, that can really make you aware of what you are spending and have you checked out the snowball site, its very encouraging to see how paying of a little extra here and there can really bring your DFD forward.

Good luck on your debt free path!

Maybe you should post a full SOA so you can look back in a years time and see the progress you have made?

    Hi All

Thanks very much for your help - I took your advice and did the snowball and it said I would be debt free by April 2012  but that does include my Student Loan which isn't too bad.

    My SOA is as follows:

Income: £860 per month after tax

Debts - as below in signature

    Outgoings per month

Rent to Parents: £80 (lucky I know!) :o
Parents: £200 - paying off old debts
Car Insurance: £50.24 (1st time on my own insurance and only pay till Sept 07 then start again in Jan 08) :rotfl:
    Car Tax: £10 per month
Food: £40 - rest is what I share with my parents
Petrol: £60 - work fairly local
RBS Credit Card: £60 min payment
RBS Loan: £100 (OH pays the other £24)
    O2: £60 - paying old debt
Mobile Phone: £20 PAYG as I don't use my contract one any more
Essentials: £15 - trying to use all my old hair products etc
    Birthdays: £20 whenever needed

I've also got about £20 in my paypal account from Ebay which I'm keeping in there until I get a decent amount.

    Any Suggestions?

    Hi again

Seems like it's only me writing on my own thread really but I would like to look back in 2 years and see what things were like for me and the progress I've made.

I took complete advantage of the 1/2 price selling fees day on Ebay last night and added 26 items of clothing so I'm hoping that at least some of these things sell :D - I'd like to store up this money and use it to put towards my O2 debt. I keep trying to see if AQA have any vacancies but they never do for the UK. Does anyone have any other ideas of how to make some money?
