I have never had a mortgage, and I am 54 years old. I have arounf £30,000 to spare on a deposit, and I earn £20,200 pa.
The Halifax phone service is a waste of time (I have an account with them!) - they did not answer my question. Does anybody know whether I can get a mortgage at my age, or a place to get advice?

There are lenders that will look at a mortgage for you - they may want proof of income post retirement, but they will look at it for you. It does depend on the figures you are looking at also.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
