As 2013 approaches I started looking towards resolutions for the year ahead - knowing I'd most likely to have broken them before the end of the first month. Then I came up with an alternative - monthly resolutions - surely I can't break them!!
The first of my JANUARY resolutions is to sort the finances - that won't happen in a month but at least a month will give me chance to get my head round them and know exactly what is owed to whom and work out my plan of action. Having joined a couple of threads on here I have become more aware of what we are spending - and how much we were spending on cr*p. I'm also getting into the habit of finding a way to use food/leftovers rather than throwing things away.
In JANUARY I would like to have at least 2 nights out with friends. My social life isn't great - I don't have friends from work since my hubby and I work for ourselves and I miss chatting to people.
And finally in JANUARY I will finish one of my many half completed cross-stitch projects. I'm sure there is one upstairs that will make the perfect gift for my Mum's partner so need to get it out and finished.
Don't get me wrong - I need to lose weight, I need to excercise more but I want to keep my resolutions this year.

Sat down with my hubby and kids today and chatted through all our resolutions. We've written them all down and put on kitchen wall to remind us.
I haven't done anything on the finance side of things today but remembered about a cheque I was supposed to cash - it can wait until 2/1 and go straight to the credit card bill - hopefully it means the card will be paid off a week sooner than I thought. It still won't be paid off until 8th March but at least the end is in sight!0 -
I've finally got my cross stitch project out of the cupboard and made a start. I've realised why I probably gave up on this particular project - there is an error somewhere as certain things aren't matching up. I'm not going to give up and I've given myself until the end of the month to get it finished,
While the kids are still at home I haven't really done well with the organisation challenges but small steps are being made.
I hope that one of my nights out this month should be to see Les Mis at the cinema. It's not really DHs cup of tea so will find out if friends want to go.
On the money side of things - it's pay day tomorrow so I am going to sit for a while and sort everything out including total debt and from there join the debt free in 2013 thread. I can only hope it will all be paid off this year but realistically think it will be mid 2014. Hopefully with some eBay selling and carboots it may be paid off sooner. All tips will be gratefully received.0 -
Just building on my financial plan of action. In total we have debts of £10,888.04 :-( The more I look at that figure the more I think its unachievable that I'll have paid it off by the end of 2013. Think its time to have a clear out and start looking at things that we can sell on ebay or keep for a couple of months to sell at car boots once that season starts.0
