Where to buy bike lights you can't steal?

Options
Hi all,

having never had a bike light stolen, I've now had them disappear on campus 4 times since the beginning of November! They are never expensive ones, and I can't think of why anyone would bother, but that's besides the point. I'm always in a rush and if I do take my lights with me, I forget them - thus taking them with me isn't really an option. Does anyone have any good experiences on lights which are harder to steal?

Thanks :)

Cable tie them in place and cover them (except the lens) in colourful paint or nail varnish.

You can get dynamo lights which are permanently fixed to your bike and don't need batteries, or battery powered lights that attached to the pannier rack - Busch & Muller are pretty good.
Basically any light which is removable is stealable, so I'd just try and get into a routine of taking them off when you lock up.

I really don't understand how difficult is is to take them off, most lights are now quick release and are pretty small. When you take them off, just put them inside your helmet, that way you'll never forget.
  • The failure of the cycle industry to provide an integrated lighting system on their products is just one of the ways in which they have failed to keep up with changing times. The absence of an integrated locking system is another.

Try these, I use them and they just attach with velcro straps provided.
Take them off and pop them in yer pocket, can even use them as a small torch.

There are plenty of permanently attachable lights out there, you have just not read the instructions on the glue packet :)
