It's BACK! What would you spend £5,000 on? If it's officially a White Christmas round here in 2012, we'll pay someone in our 'Snowflake' draw an incredible £5,000 - and the odds are pretty good! The official definition of a White Christmas is a single snowflake falling at an official Met Office observation site (the nearest is on the roof of Birmingham Bull Ring Shopping Centre, so a flake would need to fall there) - so that single flake could earn you £5,000!

Even if it doesn't snow, we'll pay someone who's entered our 'Noflake' draw £1,000! To enter, either text SNOWFLAKE (if you think it will snow) or NOFLAKE (if you think it won't) to 87474. Texts cost £1.50 plus one standard text - you can enter both draws as many times as you wish.

The following terms and conditions apply to the competition known as "The Five Grand Snowflake" (herein "the competition") and should be read in accordance with Quidem Midlands Limited's standard competition terms and conditions.


1. The competition shall be open for entry from 00:00:01hrs 01/12/2012 until 23:59:59 25/12/2012.

2. The competition shall be available for entry to listeners of Quidem Midlands Limited radio stations, namely 102 Touch FM, 107.3 Touch FM, 101-102 Touch FM, 96.2 Touch FM, Banbury Sound, Oak FM and Rugby FM (herein "the station" or "the station").

3.The method of entry shall be by premium rate text message. A free entry option shall be available via the station's website at all times. No other method of entry shall be accepted.

4.Text entry shall cost £1.50 + one standard network message rate. There shall be no charge for entries made via the station's website. All entries shall carry the same weight in the random prize draw.

5.Entry is available to over 18s only.

6.An individual may enter the competition as many times as they wish.

7.The prize shall be awarded only if the UK Meteorological Office announce that a single snow flake (perhaps amongst a shower of rain and snow mixed) was observed falling in the 24 hours of 25 December, at their official observation site at Birmingham Bullring Shopping Centre. If a white Christmas is recorded at any other official observation station, it shall not count as a white Christmas in relation to this competition.

8.The UK Meteorological Office shall make a public announcement on 26/12/2011 regarding locations where an official White Christmas has been observed. No other official or unofficial observation of snowfall shall be taken into account in relation to the competition.

9.In the unlikely event of a dispute, the Chief Executive's decision shall be final. No correspondence shall be entered into.

10.If an official White Christmas is recorded at Birmingham Bullring by the UK Meteorological Office, the prize shall be £5,000 (five thousand pounds) paid by cheque to the winner in accordance with Quidem Midlands Limited’s standard competition terms and conditions. In this event, the winner shall be notified as soon as possible after Christmas.

11.The winner shall be decided by random prize draw from all entries received during the entry period.

12.If no official White Christmas is recorded at Birmingham Bullring by the UK Meteorological Office, the prize shall be £1,000 (one thousand pounds) paid by cheque to the winner in accordance with Quidem Midlands Limited’s standard competition terms and conditions. In this event, the winner shall be notified as soon as possible after Christmas.

13.In the event that the station is unable to contact the winner after reasonable attempts, the station reserves the right to carry out a further random prize draw to decide an alternate winner. No correspondence shall be entered into.
