If you don't do social media then you will have no idea whats up there that may contain pictures of you.

Even if you do social media you only know those you see/find.

it is relatively easy to end up in a photo unless you are very camershy ALL the time holidays parties weddings...

To be fair, whilst I think the OP needs to seriously consdier whether it is worth the fuss, I have some sympathy since, despite best efforts, almost all photographs of me tend to make me look like the bride of Frankensteins monster! And I may not be a supermodel, but I really am not that bad!

I discovered the solution many decades ago - always be the one behind the camera!

I'm told "you signed your contract there's your agreement to your photo being taken".

thank you in advance for any advice.

Does it really say in your contract you agree to your photo being taken and published on the net?

  • I can't find it (where it says in the contract - and no it doesn't) - when i thought it was the works account I was really annoyed. I'm not happy that they are on any facebook account , but at least it's not as bad as being on the work account. if that makes sense.

I think what I'm gathering here is that realistically I've not got any "rights" as it were, and I'm being sensitive but it is bothering me and all I can do is challenge it.

I really appreciate everyone replying - I know you deal with much more serious things than this but it is serious to me so thank you all.

So pics of you are NOT on the works Facebook page? If they are on a personal page ie someone you work with then you just aks them to take them off or don't be silly enough to get in 'work' photos.

  • There are pictures of me working on the works one, which although I don't like I can live with. The party ones are not on the works page. Which I feel better about. As i don't use my facebook and it was set up purely for work I wrongly assumed it was on the works page. I didn't realise that when I set up I'd made "friends" with my other colleagues. I assumed I was just friends with work only. My page was set up on the same day as works and I was helped to do it at work. I hope this clears this up.

I'm only dancing/holding a drink but I don't really want them "out there".
  • Click on the photo and remove the tag. Then it won't appear on your timeline at all.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.
  • Thank you I never knew that Sambucus Nigra - I'll do that now.

The OP has no FB account so can not be tagged to appear in a time line connected to their page

    EDIT

Ok you have a page you say after you said you disn't have page

If you add someone you have allowed them to tag you and whatever in photos which you can remove

NOTE - NEVER add anyone you work with to ANY social network and if you do not want to be in photos, get out of the view of the camera.

De friend all your colleagues and delete your FB account? Does it say in your contract that you must have a FB account?
Signature removed for peace of mind
