I've had a great day today. Finally bought some girls clothes for baby from the charity shops. Only spent £3.50 on 3 dresses including a winter party dress. Also bought DS a cardigan for £1.99.
I did spend £4.09 in McDs because I didn't bring any snacks
. I'm hoping to do some baking with DS tomorrow so won't have this problem again. The only other thing I paid for was playgroup so all good.
DS is at preschool tomorrow afternoon and I am volunteering at our local foodbank so no plans for spending. Wednesday and Thursday should be SFDs but might use some of the entertainment budget for teas at the play barn. And then Friday is payday :j:j:j
I have about £9 left from the food budget so may use some of this for baby supplies at Asda Baby Event and then the rest can go on the barclaycard. I still need to buy DH's train tickets to Sheffield on Friday but that should only be £30.TOTAL DEBT £12,212.46/£2000 paid offDebt Free Goal September 2017#106 Emergency Fund £482.53/£10000 -
Yesterday ended up being a spend day but I have got everything I need until payday. Spent £1.25 on a pie walking from the bank to the car as mortgage advisor wasn't in
. I'm hoping for a call back later today to sort it out.
As I already spent money I thought I would buy milk, golden syrup and yogurt that I needed for £2.30. I also ordered DH's train ticket online so that was £32 with booking fee.
Sky payment came out yesterday but was £1.70 more than we had agreed so DH will be ringing them up tonight. Only need my mobile phone bill (£33) and water (£20) to come out and then the rest can go to savings/credit card.
I've also started a thread on MFW as when we've sorted out the repayment mortgage, we'd like to knock £10k off our mortgage in 2 years so we can move. We will start overpaying by £30 and then once we've repaid the debts we can overpay more hopefully :jTOTAL DEBT £12,212.46/£2000 paid offDebt Free Goal September 2017#106 Emergency Fund £482.53/£10000 -

I love having some long term goals as well as short term goals.
SFD today and made Twinks hobnobs after school with DS. Should hopefully be able to make some more while tea is in the oven. Just need to do mash and roasted veg as its leftover spag bol turned into cottage pie.
I haven't heard from the bank so will give them a ring now.
On other things, I'm having a very emotional day. I was planning on buying a multi purpose steam mop on payday from one of the voucher sites but they've all sold out. DH has promised that we will buy one from somewhere else as I was a bit upset. I've wanted one for ages and thought it was useful while I'm pregnant. Also, found out that DH's petrol account is £90 overdrawn. This was the one we paid off in January so really annoyed about that. He said that he had told me that buying something he needed would take it overdrawn and it was at £180 so he's dealing with it. I was just really upset that he didn't tell me as I'm spending all my time worrying about the housework, DS and paying off debts.
I think I've also got to the point in my pregnancy where I have to slow down but looking after a 3 year old and the house isn't easy.
Anyway, rant over.TOTAL DEBT £12,212.46/£2000 paid offDebt Free Goal September 2017#106 Emergency Fund £482.53/£10000 -
Hello diary. I thought as it was payday today that I would do a review of what I have done this month towards my debts.
MBNA -
Previous balance £991.91
Minimum payment £25.00
Overpayments this month £55.00
New balance £911.92
Barclaycard -
Previous balance £1602.65
Minimum payment £36.71
Overpayments this month £208.28
New balance £1357.66
Tax Debt -
Previous balance £1876.00
Minimum payment £50.00
Overpayments this month £0
New balance £1826.00
I'm really pleased with the barclaycard balance especially and I still have the penny jar to empty and take down to the bank tomorrow. It would be lovely to get this card below £1000 by the end of the month. I might aim to get MBNA down to £800 by the end of the month. The tax debt is still staying at £50 a month as it's interest free until the end. Once one of the cc's have gone I will put those payments away to pay it off in a lump sum.
My savings are looking particularly healthy. As I'm saving with Lloyds TSB, I can set savings goals and this helps me to separate the savings into different areas. I currently have over £80 towards car maintenance which should pay for the car tax at the end of May and some tyres soon.
Off to update my signanture :T:TTOTAL DEBT £12,212.46/£2000 paid offDebt Free Goal September 2017#106 Emergency Fund £482.53/£10000 -
Well, I've ordered a steam cleaner from Ebay and it should arrive on Monday :j. It is budgeted for and actually came out cheaper than the previous one as it's free delivery. DH has his dehydrator on order also so we're both happy.
DH picked up our £30 wardrobe from the charity warehouse. It's still in the car as DH can't lift it on his own. The only other thing we bought today was the first food shop of the month. Only spent £22.30 but need juice cartons and breakfast biscuits which should only cost £1.49.
I've looked at my spreadsheet and we only need to find £31.92 extra to get the MBNA card to £800. It's gonna be a bit harder to find £227.66 to get the Barclaycard to £1000. I do have £18 to take to the bank from the penny jar which'll help. I'm just really eager to get as much paid off as possible :rotfl:
We don't have many plans for the rest of the weekend. We might go to the local NT park if it's nice.
New budgets for May
Food £22.30/£120
Petrol £50.07/£50 (It's impossible for me to stop where I want it)
Entertainment £0/£81.20
Planned Spends £80.95/£135.98
Unplanned Spends £6.05/£50TOTAL DEBT £12,212.46/£2000 paid offDebt Free Goal September 2017#106 Emergency Fund £482.53/£10000 -
Well, it's been a bit of a lazy day today. DH & DS gave me a lie in so I could catch up on some sleep.
DH has moved the wardrobe from the car to the outhouse. This way, when he gets chance to do any sanding he can pull it out into the yard and make a mess outside.
Nipped to Tesco briefly and finished our food shop for the week. Bought a few more things than planned but most were needed. DH paid the extra out of spare spends so have only spent £30 this week. I do think it might go up slightly soon as I'm currently craving weetabix so going through the last of them and lots of milk :rotfl:
Tomorrow I have a meeting with the bank about our repayment mortgage. I'm praying it'll be sorted tomorrow and we can get on with paying it off properly from June/July. Also have a visit to the library planned so will be a SFD.
DFW plans for the week
* Bake more hobnobs, strawberry tarts, strawberry biscuits, banana cake/muffins and victoria sponge cake. This should stop me buying food while we're out.
* Do free activities with DS including baking, painting and visits to the park.
* Make sure we stick to the meal plan.
* Sort out 2 boxes of car boot stuff a day.
That's all I can think of at the moment. We have playgroup on Monday and Friday, craft club on Tuesday and preschool 3 times.TOTAL DEBT £12,212.46/£2000 paid offDebt Free Goal September 2017#106 Emergency Fund £482.53/£10000 -
Well, it's a lovely sunny day and the end of the month

Several big bills have gone out this morning and I've paid both the credit cards for the month. I think May might be a bit of a tight month so thought I'd better pay the cards now including the planned overpayments. Just need the tax payment to go out and then all debts are satisfied for the month.
I've also transferred all the savings for the month. These are my totals so far
Holiday £40
Xmas £30
Car Maintenance £90
Leisure £20
Clothes £40.12
Haircuts £5
Home Improvements £91.27
Birthdays £20
Baby Savings £20
I'm quite please with how much we've saved in the last 2 months. Why we haven't done this before is baffling. The birthday fund will be used this month as have 5 birthdays including a 30th. The clothes fund can be used for emergencys as we don't normally use that amount a month. However we do need work trousers for DH, a maternity dressing gown for me and possibly a couple of things for DS.
DS is currently at preschool so I'm gonna finish my brew and maybe sort out some laundry before I have to pick him up at 3pm.TOTAL DEBT £12,212.46/£2000 paid offDebt Free Goal September 2017#106 Emergency Fund £482.53/£10000 -
Have just checked the credit card statements online and both payments have now gone through :j:j
I've not had a SFD today but I'm hoping for one tomorrow. I've done a lot of housework so the house looks better. I think I'll concentrate on the housework so I don't spend money.
Planning a SFD tomorrow hopefully. Updated signature now off to bed.TOTAL DEBT £12,212.46/£2000 paid offDebt Free Goal September 2017#106 Emergency Fund £482.53/£10000 -
Well I've decided to do my food shop a day earlier as we've ran out of alot of essentials. Have done a meal plan for the next 10 days & have a £5 voucher for Tesco.
We are currently at the local play park as the weather is lovely. I've brought plenty of snacks & juice but may treat ourselves to an ice cream as long as DS doesnt have a toilet accident.
