Well, I started a debt-free diary when I first joined the site; but I got quickly depressed by the amount I had to pay off and soon abandoned it. I think it's a good idea though, considering that I have bipolar disorder, so erratic spending is all part of the condition and maybe monitoring myself more closely (and sharing with others) will help me to stay on track.
I managed to pay off a lot of my debts earlier this year thanks to a lovely family member, however due to it taking several months to be approved to start work (CRB, occupational health and slooooow references ) these debts started to creep up again. I'm now getting a steady regular wage and am paying this down again, as well as starting to save. Currently I'm at:

Capital One: £500
Vanquis: £600
Overdraft: £800
Savings: £210
Owed to me from others: £400
Am hoping to have all debts done with by February and will begin properly saving in earnest after then.
Things are looking up for 2013 :T

Well I've been at it for nearly a month now and the savings are creeping up slowly. It looks as though we may be moving into a more expensive (but still rented) house in the not-too-distant future, as DH is unimpressed with the local yoofs vandalising his car - so getting this deposit together could take more time than I originally thought, but we're definitely going to get there.

 Overdraft: £600
 Savings: £450

Good luck, Amy! We are in a similar position but with more to pay off. We have decided to stay in our current house even though we really don't like it here - we just can't justify the cost of moving until we have paid off our debts.0

            Hi Amy,
good luck clearing off your debts and saving
I dont suffer with Bipolar, but depression.
In a similar way my spending goes haywire when my depression gets worse as i try to 'cheer myself up' by spending. Obviously it never works, and when this dawns on me (again!!), i sink back down even further into the depression.
However, i have definitely made progress, and have almost cleared my debt, and have started saving The saving is only at about £500, but every penny i add to it is a bonus. The saving is only at about £500, but every penny i add to it is a bonus.
 Good luck 0 0

Things are a little bit all over the place at the moment, but I've been carrying on regardless. I have the winter vomiting bug / norovirus so am currently off work, but am using the opportunity to catch up on OU assignments and hope to be back on Saturday. I feel so guilty being off work, but it wouldn't help to go in and share my illness with the poorly mums / new babies. Half the ward seem to be off with it at the moment though
 Currently I'm at:
 Capital One: £300
 Vanquis: £450
Overdraft: £800 (but this will hopefully be reduced to practically 0 following payday)
 Savings: £750

A little change from yesterday as I managed to get some paid off Capital One - am also looking into cash4clothes for some of my old stuff and have an offer for my old mobile from envirophone, so hopefully they will help too. Have managed to finish my OU assignment so would like to get back to Ebaying - but have 2 more assignments due in at the beginning of February  I'm not sure what made me take on 2 concurrent modules as well as full time work but it was silly :rotfl:
Have also started the process to get some 'bank' hours at work, hopefully a couple of extra shifts a month will go towards the deposit / baby fund and start to top that up.

I'm now back on the £10 a day challenge so hopefully will be seeing my total go up and my debts come down... have also returned to TB after a good long time and completed 10 articles! That's £55 straight off

7 items up on Ebay and 3 TB articles written... I know it's not much but it's a start. Have also arranged my practical assessment which hopefully means I should be set up to do extra shifts at work from the end of next month *fingers crossed*

Another 8 TB articles completed and 3 eBay items now have bids :j Transferred another £9.99 into savings and starting the countdown to payday! My sister did my hair yesterday and I'm not sure I really like it  It's too dark... she said she was going to put some highlights in, but has now decided she's not going to do this 'til March (I might have to insist before then :rotfl:)0

Well I don't have a huge amount to report (pay day on Friday :j) but have been making some small steps whilst being off work with viral gastro
I've done quite a few TB articles, am getting a regular direct order each day and have managed to succesfully sell 4 things on eBay... it's slow, but it's a start.
