Just wanted to say good luck.

My advice don't do too much but don't be too relaxed, i was an athlete into my late teens and found if i rested too much i was too rested and could not be bothered so needed lots of motivation to get going.:)

Hey there benben, I know you will have a fab day. The only advice I can give is to eat sensibly today and make sure you drink enough. It is going to be a warm one tomorrow and you will sweat buckets!

Have you got your vaseline - every bit of clothing will rub around the edges and the seams so make sure you are well "greased up"!!

How about going for a walk in the sunshine this afternoon - just for half an hour or so to get you out and about, without being strenuous in any way?

I will be living every step with you (as I do every year, each year saying I will do it again next year :o )

    Enjoy x

wow! I'd never bother to run for a bus never mind 26 miles! very very best of luck to you benben, but remember it's not how well you do that counts it's enjoying every second (or rather hour) you spend doing it! It's a super achievement and I hope you are veyr very proud of yourself already!

thank you lynsayjane ... I am really proud although I'm petrified that my knee will go again and I won't finish, but then lots of people seem to worry about the same kind of thing. I might spend a few miles trying to figure out some new ways to save money, that should keep me ocupied for a bit !:p

Don't worry too much about the ipod - the atmosphere and your fellow runners/joggers/walkers/wombles will be more than enough to keep you going.

My biggest tip though is to make sure you leave enough time to go to the loo before you start - the queue is always huge and you don't want to be stopping in a portaloo on the way round.....
