Do you want a loan in EUR changed into one in GBP?

The post office does not charge an interest fee for pounds to euros or back again. however I did not check the actual exchange rate.

The exchange is the important factor,I am afraid that if you use the high street exchange companies you will get the tourist rate,so you will lose out big time. Why not have a look at this site and let me know how you went on

Why not open a foreign bank account and put them in that then you will have them waiting for you next time you go abroad.
I like to give people as many choices as possible to do what I want them to. (Milton H Erickson I think)

Or ask round at work - around 1.42, 1.43 euro to the pound should give both sides a reasonable deal.

Currently around 1.47, but outside of MSE-land, plenty of people buy euros at 1.38 (Travel Agents) to 1.40 (Post Office) and would probably prefer a better exchange rate than going through the "getting a Nationwide Debit card" thing.

Or get a Sterling Current Access Account with Citibank and set up a Euros savings account alongside it with Citibank too. Manage both online, side-by-side.

Just as an experiment for you, this afternoon (Sunday) online I can transfer £10 to my EUR Savings account and it gives EUR14.44 immediately i.e. 1 EUR = £1.44 and a bit (no FOREX commission)

Alternatively, to move 10 Euros the other way would credit my Sterling Current Account with £6.65 (which is an underlying exchange rate of £1.50 = 1 EUR and again no FOREX commission).

I can nominate my Citibank ATM debit card to deduct directly from my Euros account if I wish, and change it back later. I think there might be a 24 hour delay while the changes are made.

But I'd only use the whole facility thesedays to convert a large cash sum perhaps but evenso I might check out Moneycorp and a few other places first.

For travel FOREX I use my Nationwide Credit Card for purchases and Nationwide Flexaccount Debit Card to get Euro ATM cash.

For significant FOREX transfers to Third Party accounts I use Barclays my original bankers and twist their arm on fees:-)

No one has bothered to ask OP how many Euros he/she's got and since they have not come back since first post I would suggest all subsequent answers are irrelevant.
