I'm really stuck on a crossword in Prize Puzzles Issue 10. They have made them really hard this issue
The Clue: Control Of Numbers
Answer: C?L?
I cant think of anything it can be at all. I'm pretty sure the L is correct. If the C is wrong, the clue for that one is:
Person Moved Out
Answer: ?V????? (I have put EVACUEE)
Any help would be much appreciated. Im logging off now to try and finish off a few more of the puzzles but will pop back tomorrow and see what you have come up with
Many thanks
Alison

It could be CULLPandora's Little Sister 30/11/17 x0

First one is Cull and I think you are right with Evacuee for the second one£2019 in 2019 challenge:£50/2019
A-Z: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
Jan wins: £50 cheque0 -
I also agree with CULL but my first thought when I saw the second one was EVICTEE. Both will work. It all depends on how it fits in with the other squares. If the A and U (or in this case I and T) don't affect any other word, then I think both would be acceptable.

Thank you all CULL sounds good enough for me! Thanks Tea Pea Dee for the suggestion about EVICTEE with that one it doesn't matter as I only need the V and C so it could be either or if you see what I mean.
I am a bit confused though as the prize word is spelling out the word LIVING and all the other puzzles I have done so far are spelling out Xmas words. It might be because I think the comp is a link comp with their other mags but it will probably be best if I scan the puzzle in and see what everyone thinks.
Thank you all for all your help0 -
If anyone has a spare minute please could they confirm/disagree with this crossword? I'm a bit thrown as the prize words in the issue apart from the wordsearch are all xmas related words. I have a sneaky feeling it might be because this crossword is a link comp between the other mags but thought its best to check?
One final question too,the prize word for another puzzle is set out as above and the word is YULE LOG. There's no space in the prize word box so is it best to post it as YULELOG or YULE LOG?
No rush either, I haven't typed up the T & Cs yet or got started on inside soap so whenever anyones got a minute I will be extremely grateful as always.
Thank You

Looks good to me Alison. There's nothing 'Christmassy' those letters could make that I can think of.
Yule Log does seem to be 2 words, I don't suppose it would matter too much either way as long as the answer is correct.

Thanks Sue for confirming, I did think the word might be GIVING if I had got the others clues wrong and thought it might relate to Christmas is a time for giving. I cant think of any other options for the other clues though if the L was a G though.
I'm pretty sure its a link comp as Nev posts the answers for the Sudoku and Codebreaker and his answers match mine so maybe their crossword mag was published before this one.
Thanks for helping with the YULE LOG too, I agree they probably wont mind about spaces and will probably only want it spelt correctly. I shall put a link in the post to this thread and everyone can make their own minds up.
Once again, thank you for the help & thanks again to the others who helped further up too. :A
