Terms and Conditions - Ballantine's "Pass the Reserve" Competition

By entering the Ballantine’s Pass the Reserve Competition ("Competition"), entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by these terms and conditions and any other requirements. In these Terms, “Entrant” or "you" means any person who enters or participates in the Competition. “BCR” means a 70cl bottle of Ballantine’s Christmas Reserve.


1. The Competition is operated and run by or on behalf of Chivas Brothers Limited, a company registered under the laws of Scotland whose registered office is at 111-113 Renfrew Road, Paisley, Scotland, PA3 4DY (Registered company number SC268758) (“Chivas”).


2. The Competition is open to Ballantine’s Facebook Fans over the age of 18 who are residents in Bulgaria, Germany, Poland or United Kingdom. All participants in the Competition (both those passing the BCR and those recipients spinning the bottle) must be residents of legal drinking age in these countries. Employees and agents of Chivas or any other members of the Pernod Ricard S.A group and their immediate families and anyone professionally connected with the Promotion are excluded from entry.


3. To enter the Competition, you must allow the App permission to access your Facebook contacts and post on your behalf, and you must supply your email address. You must select up to 5 friends to pass the BCR. The App will allow you to post a message on the wall of each of your selected friends who can then unwrap a bottle of BCR. Only 1 of your invited friends may be eligible to win a prize. The invited friend must then correctly answer the multi-choice question then both you and your friend will each win a bottle of BCR. If the unwrapping reveals another layer of wrapping paper, the invited friend will have the opportunity to pass the bottle to different friends. However, it is not possible to invite the same friend more than once. You may not continue to participate in the Competition if you win a bottle of BCR. No product purchase is necessary to enter.


4. The Competition begins at 12.00pm GMT on 21st November 2012. The Competition closes at 12.00pm on 10th December 2012 or when all prizes have been claimed. Incomplete entries or those not received by the deadline will be disqualified.


5. Winners will be randomly selected by the App and notified instantly via the App and by email. Chivas accepts no responsibility for incorrectly supplied email addresses. You will need to supply us with confirmation of your postal address in order to claim the prize. This must be completed by 15th December. All claims after this date will be void and a prize will not be supplied.


6. The prize consists of a 70cl bottle of Ballantine’s Christmas Reserve Scotch Whisky. There are 100 bottles to be won. There are no cash or other prize alternatives available in whole or in part, except in the event of circumstances outside its reasonable control, Chivas reserves the right to substitute similar alternatives of equal or greater value. The winner must provide sufficient legal proof of age to Chivas (passport, drivers licence or as otherwise notified by Chivas) as a condition of accepting the prize; and you will personally need to accept delivery of the prize from Chivas or its authorised representatives. We reserve the right to check proof of age on delivery as well. It is possible that the bottle will not be delivered before Christmas (25 th December). In the case a bottle of CR is not available Ballantine’s reserve the right to give the winner something of equal or greater value.
7. You give consent for Chivas and any member of the Pernod Ricard S.A group to use your name, Facebook profile picture and country of residence on the Ballantine’s website / Facebook Fan Page and any promotional material connected to this Competition, and for your personal profile to be tagged on the Ballantine’s Facebook page.


8. Chivas reserves the right to disqualify you if it has reasonable grounds to believe you have breached any of these terms and conditions. In the event that a winning Entrant is disqualified from the competition, is unable to take up the prize, or if Chivas is not able to contact the winning Entrant within a reasonable period, Chivas may in its sole discretion select a replacement entrant as the winning Entrant. In this event, any further winning Entrant will be selected on the same criteria as the original winning Entrant and will be subject to the same terms and conditions.
