Who's In The Wrong Mbna Or Payplan?

Basically Payplan are paying MBNA for me, they are paying £6.65 but MBNA have tortured me saying that they have worked it out wrong and it should be £7.76 so I contacted payplan who said the following.

The offers are all calculated on a pro-rata basis, which means every creditor gets a fairly proportioned amount of your surplus. MBNA International's amount is £6.65. These amounts are all automatically generated on your current surplus and remaining debt. MBNA usually request more than we offer, and this is likely a ploy to try and get additional payments directly from yourself.

If they contact you again with regards to this, please refer them to PayPlan.

I told this to MBNA who said its bordering on illegal, I'm lost as to what to do? Incidently they are saying the same with my partners card also

I wouldn't trust the trained monkeys that work for MBNA as far as I could throw them. Personally I would believe Payplan...as for bordering on the illegal ask MBNA for clarification because tbh I think they are talking out of their backside.

whats more like "bordering on illegal" is hassling YOU for money you blatantly dont have. if they want more then they need to negotiate this with payplan- who are dealing with your affiairs through the DMP.

this is just bully tactics, distressing you so you snap and end up paying more than you can afford and the whole DMP has the potential to come crashing down if you favour one creditor over the other.

I suggest, if they contact you again, read out the statement again. And keep re-reading it until they get the message. Dont deviate by getting distressed, or arguiing with them, there isnt any point.

If they choose not to listen to you, then tell them you will only deal with thme in writing ( adn send a letter to this effect) and block thier phone numbers, report to police for harrassment and so on.

hang in there, i know its stressful, but oyu are in the right and they are not.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • Trained Monkeys??? - I could take offence at that!! It is true though, they will try anything to get more money. One thing they dont like is you telling them your recording their calls - tell them its for evidence for a claim of harrasment under the telecommunications act

Sorry :o LOL I'm sure that there are some really lovely people who work for MBNA, but from my own personal experience from the people I have spoken to I would have a more constructive conversation talking to a brick wall than talking to them.
  • Well, you cant have phoned me - cos im not on the phones:p :rotfl: but im nice and polite and helpful. Best way to deal with my "colleagues" is to be obnoxious as them - ie
MBNA - You need to pay us money
Cust - I dont have any
MBNA - Thats not our problem
Cust - I disagree, I owe you money, I dont have any - thats your problem.

Play them at their own game.

I know of one call where the bloke had a TWENTY minute conversation with a prospective customer over PPC - the customer ran rings round him, told him didnt want want it, but carry on any way.

MBNA I would say are in the wrong. Had 11 calls from MBNA since Monday regarding my DMP repayment. I usually pay on the 15th of the month, but changed it to the 26th due to wages change etc. All agreed in writing. Had all these calls chasing me as not paid by the 15th. They are inept and useless.
