  • Hi there

Thank you so much for taking the time to write back, it really is appreciated xx

I have toyed with the idea of both, really want the wine but I keep thinking that £7 closer to being debt free.. On the other hand I think after a good cry today I think I deserve it, but i am going to try and resist.... It's not good for the bank balance or the waist line! Will let you know how I get on lol!

Thinking of going spinning instead - good idea!

Right now I'm having a massive clear out, I'm going to stop hoarding on to things of the past and start a new me after today! Playing "I'm every woman" in the background too!

We can beat this debt... All of us on here!!!

    Thanks again

This first quarter has been jam packed with some of the most expensive things to happen this year.
Big birthday of my best friends
    Car mot
    Car tax

I have also slacked with my debt repayments - I got too used to living the life I want (at mates birthday for example) I need to be able to keep focussed and think one year of pain is a lifetime of gain!

    Best Financial Decision

    - Still not using pay day loans
    - Lowering my mobile phone bill by £30 pm (all by getting on correct tariff)
    - Still keeping my 2nd job
    - cutting down on meals out

    Worst Financial Decision

    - Going out and spending more than what was necessary ( i.e. buying 3 lipsticks not just one)
    - Not paying the bulk of free cash on debts as went out instead for friends birthdays - I'm so stupid as I'm now behind!!!
    - Not sticking to my food budget - spent too much which ended up getting wasted due to going off!

    Priorities and focus for April-June

    - Clear 25% of my debt in ratio of 3 months being 25% of the year!
    - Keep with the sealed pot challenge as my incentive to keep the money saved if I have paid off my debt by end of year (woo hoo)
    - Get my holiday out the way (weekend in Spain end April) so that's the last major expense for 2013 and then. Can throw all my cash to debt.
    - Not overspend on the holiday!!!

    Specific Changes For April-June

    - Keep a spending diary
    - Keep aiming to complete ninja saving Kats monthly challenges
    - Be more regimental and stick to my budgets I have set for the year
    - Sell on Ebay/car boots to help towards debt repayments whilst de cluttering my home.

    Specific Goals For April-June

Get down to target at SW... Nearly there!

Just checking in to keep myself on track!
Today I have posted all my eBay sales - made £23.46 so far once I have taken out postage!
Can't believe how much postage has gone up these days!!

Also opened up a isa today which I am really proud of :-)

    Hope everyone is keeping well

    Hey there!

Hang in there!!! I too had my stint off the wagon and am not doing as well as I'd hoped... had to drag my !!! back on the wagon and it's taken me a few weeks to get back into the swing of saving... Still have slips (like yesterday!!!) but checking in everyday helps keep me more or less on track.

Post up your progress and review - and let's see if we both can't nail the last 6 months of the year!!!

I will update my much neglected diary thread too at some point this week.

  • Dear diary,

Half the year has gone and yet I've achieved nothing that I had planned to by this point! I should of paid off £5.3k but yet i have only paid of £1.8k

Come on girl pull yourself together !! I can do this, but I need to stop buying clothes, getting beauty done and partying! Only I can choose my priorities , surely it's better to be debt free?

  • Review of Apr-June 2013

This second quarter has been jam packed with lots of socialising that basically I really didn't need to do!
    my birthday
    Car wing mirror - £60
Going out every Sunday- £40-£50 each week
    Slimming world -£25 per month
    Education -£1,000
Barcelona -£700 approx (not inc. flights at £200 paid in 2012)

I have still slacked with my debt repayments - I got too used to living the life I want and I need to be able to keep focussed and think one year of pain is a lifetime of gain!

    Best financial decision:
    - Still keeping my 2nd job
    - cutting down on meals out
    - paying for my education (cash over 3 months) which doesn't help me right now but I can start earning more over the next quarter now

    Worst Financial Decision

    - Going out and spending more than what was necessary
    - Spending too much on shopping budget as I keep buying wine!
    - Borrowed from pay day loan again!

    Priorities and focus for July-September

    - Clear 25% of my debt in ratio of 3 months being 25% of the year!
    - Keep with the sealed pot challenge as my incentive to keep the money saved if I have paid off my debt by end December
    - pay off at least £3k
    - try and pay myself back with the money I used from my 2nd job emergency fund

    Specific Changes For July-September

    - Keep a spending diary
    - Be more regimental and stick to my budgets I have set for the year
    - Sell on Ebay/car boots to help towards debt repayments whilst de cluttering my home.
    - calm down on the going out

    Specific Goals For July-September

Get down to target at SW... Nearly there!
Do so well at my debt repayments that I can buy my cooker!!!!! Only 3 years later ha ha ha

  • This weekend was better than expected... I had a hen party to go to and it came in £30 less than expected so very pleased with that :-)

This week I am focussing on getting the ironing done and cleaning the house so that I stay away from the shops! I have just done my weekly shop at the supermarket, so all ready and raring to go with the "no spend week"
