After taking a year or two out from entering comps, I decided to give it another bash.
I had twins at the end of 2010 which gave me very little free time to myself, and I had to stop entering comps.
The twins are no longer babies and I now have a bedtime pattern for them and my other 2 children. I have found some spare time now,so I decided to give it another bash. I opened a Facebook account, got in contact with a few people who are still around and entered a few comps whenever I could.
About a week later after opening my account up, I got a message from Facebook to say that my account was suspended and if I wanted it back then I would have to upload some ID showing my details to match up with the details I had unput on Facebook. I didn't have he time to be faffing around scanning & uploading ID in so I left it and opened up another Facebook account.
A few days on and same again, a message from Facebook to say that my account had been suspended and if I wanted it back then I would have to upload ID.
I decided to challenge Facebook and ask what was going on. Shocked isn't the word for it.
I uploaded ID to prove that I am Clare Livesey and I have always been Clare Livesey, since the day my parents registered me. I have absolutely no reason to use a fake name. What would be the point? If I was lucky enough to win a biggie then my name would need to match up with the name I registered the account in and entered via
I got a message back after I uploaded my ID which said that my account will not be suspended again, they had taken that action following a report from a user with the same surname as me, and the user said that I was impersonating her.
I was added to a facebook comping group which has started up since I left when I had the twins, a comper who I used to enter comps with said that she knew why I was suspended, even before I did!
The comper with the same surname as me,who joined after I left in 2010,reported me and told others that I was stealing her identity and typing in the same style as she types? Typing in the same style?
We have the same surname, we don't have the same christian name, what grounds did facebook have for suspending my account and having me scanning and uploading my passport?
Having the same surname as another comper automatically means that you are impersonating them?
Things have changed a hell of alot since I left in 2010.
There is thousands of compers, i'm positive there will be alot of compers with the same surname too.

I sympathise with you - Facebook seem to be attacking the innocent these days and the account holders who should be suspended are getting away with it! At least you got to contact them? How out of interest?:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0

I have just had my account blocked for 30 days when I went to add a referral link to a site. Why allow referral link pages when they block you when you add a referral for that site.
No big loss to me for Facebook as I seldom use it other than the odd access to a comp or to post a seldom referral link to a site that allows you to post the links???Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
