The dreaded Capital One credit card. Does anyone know how to stop them sending me application forms? I don't want one of their cards. I keep sending back the forms in their freepost envelopes telling them this. Even more annoyingly, I get four other applications on a regular basis, correct address, wrong family. I send those back too. But their letters keep on arriving. How do I stop them - Help? I am registered with mail preference service to keep out most junk mail, but these Capital One people are a pain.

I think you are missing the point of cutting up your current card rather than cancelling it?
If you follow Capital One's advise of just cutting it up and getting a new card then you never have to speak to sales people other than those employed by Capital One. If the advert advised you to cancel your existing card then you would speak to your current card provider, who might then make offers to try to keep you; this is not in Capital One's interests.0 -
Morgan Stanley just imposed a £20 annual fee on me. I didn't just cut up the card but rang up to close the account before the start date of 1st June.
All seemed to go OK but they refused to give me the cashback I had earned because it was less than £15. What a swizz! I could have been using another card from my last cashback claim had I known the fee was coming.0
