Oh and any news yet on your Council Tax?

Many thanks for your good wishes.

Council tax - the valuation office wrote and apologised that as they are inundated with enquiries regarding banding they will not be able to respond for approx 14 weeks.

I don't mind waiting....but am keeping fingers tightly crossed.

PS......I wonder why they are inundated with banding queries....all MSErs:rotfl:

Wow, brainfreeze, that is *really* impressive - £308???? Well done you. I'm reading into matched betting - are there any threads on the cyberslotz or the casino stuff that I can swot up on? These figures sound fantastic - I enjoyed my pottering day yesterday, but if I could make £300, then I'd pay a bit more attention!

    Hi Karmacat

The cyberslotz - sign up through cashbackjunction for £20 cashback (I didn't include this in my profits as I don't coun't it until the money arrives). Deposit £10 and they give you a free £5 sign up bonus as well. Then go and play ICE KING (don't play anything else) and I changed the stake to 45p. Just keep checking your account to see when the bonus deposit is released for withdrawal. But you will win small to medium amounts all the time on ice king and so shouldn't lose. I did this yesterday and got over £28 - my friend did it for her, her son, her daughter, her DH and the lowest amount withdrawn from each account was £23. There is a long thread here about this.

Oh ....and if you are MBing and have a coral account make sure you do the CHIP, NINE, and 60 seconds offers....I got over £9 profit from the each of the first two and £7.50 from the second. Strange, how many coral accounts we now have in the house:rotfl:

Virgin casino....if you can tie up £55 for about a week then there is a thread on the referrers board about this. Hesjane referred me (she is always helping me sort things out) and that way both she and I got a £25 referral bonus as well as me getting the sign up bonus.

If you want any help with any of these, just give me a pm (not that I'm a referrer or anything...just offering to help;) )

Good news and bad news today......

Bad news (get it out of the way first:mad: ) - council tax banding enquiry not upheld...so we stay in the same band. Oh well...I tried.

    Good new.........:j :j :j :j :j

I'm now sub £58k on the debts (monthly payments gone out...but hey it all counts;) )

Other than that....it's just another day at the office:T

    Hope everyone is keeping well

Another quiet week and not much to report, but I wanted to update my diary anyway:confused:

I've got into the habit of logging on to my bank account every morning and whatever the balance to the nearest £10 I transfer the difference to my Lloyds TSB CC. It must drive them mad as they will be getting daily transfers of piddling little amounts between £1 and £9.99:rotfl: It's going to be the longest statement I ever received from them;)

The best part is I am not missing the money - I know that I would be making the monthly payment to them anyway and it would probably be included in that total, but I feel better everyday because I can visit my snowball and take a little bit more off the total. Also I'm not sure whether interest is calculated daily, but if it is then it will all help to reduce the overall amount of interest I pay.

I seem to have reached a bit of a lull......nothing to ebay (well, I am going to attack the loft space next weekend and see what's what up there).

Matched betting is still going okay but I have definitely slowed down on that one - I think the drive to pay of £1,344 to HFC pushed me to spend loads of time everyday on it and now that's paid off I still match bet but only spend half an hour an evening on. It's still an income I never had before and helps to make the difference.

I had the first £82 in the bank from Quidco last week...nicey nicey:T and I'm still clicking through on pigsback. I'm looking at other click through sites, but to be honest it seems like a lot of hard work for a few pence when in half an hour I can make £25 to £50 matched betting.

Although I'm in this lull type of period/mood I am still upbeat and keen to become debt free asap. My next goal (apart from seeing the gradual clearing of CCs/loans in my signature) is to bring the debt free date of March 2011 forward to at least December 2010. I hope to have achieved this by August this year.

Hope everyone is keeping well and positive. I love this section of MSE and have now pointed it out to soooooooooooooooo many people and am gradually converting them to a different way of thinking about money, credit and debt.

    Hi everyone
Hope you are all keeping well and keeping up the DFW goals:beer:

It seems ages since I posted. It's been a quiet month at home but life has got in the way of me visiting the forum:confused: - don't ask me what....I just never seem to have time for myself lately:mad:

The debts are coming down....slowly, but tonight I managed to change my signature to show two more debts cleared and boy what a great feeling.

I checked the bank account tonight and had a lovely little extra in from Quidco....straight off one of the cards methinks:T

I am going to have to go back to a spending diary - I have definitely slipped and don't know what's happening to the pounds lately - we always pay extra off but that is coming from the match betting and quidco etc...and I don't feel we are paying off as much as we could....so where's it all going:confused: July is going to be an expensive month with several family weddings and birthdays but I will try to keep gift costs to the minimum possible. A visit to the Quick Grabbit forum will hopefully come up trumps:rotfl:

One thing I did which was not DFW but was, IMHO, essential was to donate £20 to the www.justgiving.com/sirboz site. Sirboz was a fantastic gentleman who helped me out when I almost stuffed up and lost money on a matched bet. He was so patient and helpful - had never met/corresponded with me before this, but my friend pointed me in his direction and he was able help and did so gladly. Sirboz passed away just over a week ago, very suddenly and unexpectedly (I believe his funeral is today) and I wanted to give some of my matched betting profits to the cause chosen by his wife in his name - The British Heart Foundation. Sirboz (Allan) was only 39 and it really bought home how important everyday is. From my chat with Allan it was clear he definitely loved his life and family and enjoyed every minute of it. The gang over at the gambling loopholes forum have donated almost £4.5k in Allan's memory.....which clearly shows how much he was thought of.

Anyway...on that sad note I'm off to have a read and catch up of everyone's recent escapades.

    Hi brainfreeze
I saw your post yesterday, and didn't have time to read it then, I wish I had - how sad about sirboz. What a lovely man he sounds. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment with all the things I have to do, and all the rate rises, but this really shows what the priorities are, doesn't it. I've heard him quoted, but as I don't do matched betting yet, hadn't met him even virtually.

Glad to hear you're finding yourself able to overpay, even if it is coming off the matched betting - and I don't know where I'd be without my spending diary, it makes things a *lot* easier. Information, basically!

Wish you well, your sig shows how much you've done. Please keep posting!
