There was some discussion about this comp recently. For at least 4 years this monthly competition has been open to everyone. The competitions printed in the magazines are the ones that are only open to subscribers. You won't get bombarded with SPAM from this provided you tick/untick the appropriate boxes but they will try to sell you a subscription in the acknowledgement & winner announcement emails.
